Question about Internet & Communication Software

I can't navigate in the web

Hi

This page is loaded automaticaly when I open firefox, although I have
another page configured as starting page. And I can't change this page, no
matter what address I try to access.

The content of this page is:

"Great Success !
Apache is working on your cPanel(R) and WHM(tm) Server
If you can see this page, then the people who manage this server have
installed cPanel and WebHost Manager (WHM) which use the Apache Web
server software and the Apache Interface to OpenSSL (mod_ssl)
successfully. They now have to add content to this directory and
replace this placeholder page, or else point the server at their real
content.

ATTENTION!
If you are seeing this page instead of the site you expected, please
contact the administrator of the site involved. (Try sending an email
to .) Although this site is running cPanel, WebHost
Manager, and Apache software it almost certainly has no other
connection to cPanel Inc. or the Apache Group. Please do not send mail
about this site or its contents to cPanel Inc. or the Apache Group.

About cPanel:
cPanel is a leading provider of software for the webhosting industry.
If you would like to learn more about cPanel please visit our website
at www.cpanel.net. Please be advised that cPanel Inc. is not a web
hosting company, and as such has no control over content found
elsewhere on this site.

About Apache HTTP Server:
The Apache HTTP Server is an open source web server which powers many
of the worlds web sites. The Apache HTTP server is part of the Apache
Group's many influential projects. Their efforts have helped shape
much the world wide web, and they continue to be a dominating force in
the web hosting industry. "

I know that in this page it is suggested to contact the site involved but I can´t see any other page. So which site I have to contact?
And the same happened when I tried to use Explorer instead of Firefox.
I also used Firefox in my work and I don't have any trouble there.
I don't know what could have suddenly change in my computer that from one day to another I can't access any other page.

Thanks in advance
Francisco

This may be cheating, but have you thought about copying the user folder and then deleting the account?

Web page is not available

Step 1:
Online or Offline ??
It is occasionally necessary to access Web pages when an Internet connection is not available. This could be during research projects or during air travel. It is possible to view these files by saving a copy of the page on your computer so that it can be accessed offline. Most Internet browsers have a way to make Web pages available to be viewed when offline.

Add the website to your favorites. On the open Web page, open the "Favorites" menu and click "Add to Favorites." Click the "Make Available Offline" check box. To select how much content to download and specify a schedule for periodically updating the page click "Customize" and follow the instructions. Click "OK" to save the page to your hard drive so it can be viewed when offline. Firefox Browse to the Web page you would like to be able to view offline. Click on "File" on the menu bar. Select the "Save Page As" option. In the "Save As Type" bar, select "Web Page, Complete" to make sure that the entire Web page and contents are saved. Select the save location for the webpage. If you do not wan to save the Web page to the default location of the desktop then browse and select a suitable save location on your hard drive. Click "Save". The website will now be able to be viewed in Firefox offline, when you open it from the folder you saved it in. Safari Navigate to the page you wish to view offline. Open the "File" menu in the toolbar. Select "Save As" from the menu. Select the directory that you would like to save the Web page to. In the "Format" box select "Web Archive. " Click "Save." The Web page is now accessible offline, from the saved directory folder and will be opened in Safari.

Firefox is a very popular web browser that enables you to search and navigate the web. It allows you to run a number of components, such as toolbars, download managers and video players, to enhance your browsing experience. However, you can run into occasional display problems and crashes that require some troubleshooting. With some simple guidelines, repair common Firefox problems and improve your browser.

Print or write these directions down before proceeding. Close down Firefox and click the Windows Start menu on the desktop. Select "All Programs" and navigate to the "Mozilla Firefox" folder. Click "Mozilla Firefox (Safe Mode)" in the folder. This launches Mozilla Firefox Safe Mode. In Safe Mode, you can repair Firefox issues. Select the areas you want to repair on the "Safe Mode" window. For example, select "Reset toolbars and controls" if you want to remove third-party toolbars. Select "Disable add-ons" if you want to disable plug-ins such as download managers. Click the "Make Changes and Restart" button to repair the web browser. Restart your web browser normally after you complete the repair process. Step 5. Uninstall and reinstall Firefox if you are still having problems with it. To do so, go to the Mozilla Firefox download page and click "Free Download" (see Below). http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/ie.html When prompted, click "Save" and save the browser installation file on your desktop. Click the Windows Start menu and click "Control Panel." Double-click "Add or Remove Programs" to launch the programs list if you are using Windows XP. For Windows Vista and 7 users, launch the programs list by clicking "Programs" and clicking "Programs and Features." Click "Firefox" and click "Remove/Uninstall" to remove the web browser from your computer. Double-click the Firefox installation file you downloaded in Step 5 and click "Run" to reinstall the web browser on your computer.

Web page performance is a measure of the response load time of a web page. The slower a page loads, the higher the page's visitor bounce rate will be. There are quite a few free tools available on the market designed to conduct diagnostic performance tests on web pages. These tests analyze a select page, based a set of rules that are proven to speed the load time. You can use a web-based performance analyzing tool. Or you can install tool add-ons to your Firefox web browser.

Open your computer's web browser and go to GTmetrix.com or http://www.pagespeed.googlelabs.com/ Enter the complete URL of the page you would like to measure in the provided field. Press "Enter" to get the results of your performance test. b> Using Page Speed Firefox Add-On b> Launch the Firefox web browser. Download and install the Page Speed add-on from the Google website. Download and install the Firebug add-on from the GetFireBug website. Enter the URL of the web page you would like to measure in the Firefox address bar. Click the Firebug icon located in the top right-side of the Firefox window, to open the Firebug window. Click the "Page Speed" button in the Firebug status bar. Click "Analyze Performance" to get the results of your performance test. b> Using YSlow Firefox Add-On b> Launch the Firefox web browser. Download and install the YSlow add-on from the Yahoo website. I'm not getting any sound through my browser, but I can get sound from my zune player.

NO SOUND IN FIREFOX This article identifies several causes (and solutions) of No Sound in Firefox.
Before using the instructions in this article, make sure other applications on your computer can play sounds. If Firefox is the only application that you can't hear, continue to the troubleshooting steps below.
If you want Firefox to make a "click" sound effect when you click on a link, and to use other small sound effects like Internet Explorer does when you browse web pages, try the Navigational Sounds extension.

WINDOWS VISTA VOLUME MIXER
  1. Open Firefox and visit a site that should play sound.
  2. Click the volume icon in the Windows task bar.
  3. Click Mixer. The Volume Mixer window will appear.
  4. Make sure the Firefox slider is not at the bottom
FLASH BASED VIDEOS OR MEDIA LACK SOUND
If you're only having trouble hearing sound from pages that use Flash for video and audio (such as YouTube), you may be experiencing a problem with the Flash plugin. Follow the instructions in the Flash-based videos and sound do not play correctly article.

NON STANDARD CODE
Websites made using FrontPage add background music to webpages using non-standard code.
  1. At the top of the Firefox windowOn the menu bar, open the Tools menu, and select Page Info. The Page Info window will open.
  2. If there is a line in the Page Info window saying "GENERATOR Microsoft FrontPage ...", contact the webpage author.

OTHER PLUGINS Most web page sounds are made through plugins. For these sounds to work, you need to have the correct plugin installed. If a plugin isn't installed, you'll normally see a puzzle piece icon and Firefox will show a yellow bar telling you that you need to install the plugin.
See the Popular plugin article for links on how to install various plugins, including QuickTime, Windows Media Player, RealPlayer, and more.

PLUGIN VOLUME CONTROLS
Some plugins have their own volume controls. Check for a volume control directly on the plugin or in the right-clickCtrl+click menu.

Hi, I keep getting this everytime I try to pay for something online by card. ''Navigation To Webpage Was Cancelled'' Any Ideas?

From Microsoft: "you may experience a problem when you visit some Web pages that are in different Internet Explorer security zones. When the problem occurs, you receive a message that resembles the following: Navigation to the webpage was canceled
This problem occurs if the navigation causes Protected Mode settings to change from On to Off. You can determine which Internet Explorer security zone a Web page is in by looking at the status bar at the bottom of the Internet Explorer 7 window.
This problem occurs because Internet Explorer 7 switches Protected Mode settings when certain Web pages are configured in the Trusted Sites area of the Security tab of the Internet Options dialog box. By default, Protected Mode is set to Off for Web sites that are configured in the Trusted Sites area"
