You dont indicate if its gas or electric.

for both you may check the highlimit switch.
there may be two on ur unit depending on age.
they are located on the back panel and can be removed with a simple screwdriver. of course different models have different locations ..just poke around. (some are round disc others are plastic and both have a wire comming in and one going out of it) when they go bad they dont allow heat section of the dryer function (yea its a safety issue) if u have a meter test it, this should be a n/o switch if its closed...continunity (bad spellng) portion of the meter is used for this. simple check to do. you can do it with the machine off. email if you have more questios.

Sounds like the Thermistor is open. It looks like a dosc about the size of a quarter with 2 wires attached. It is a switch that turns the heater element on and off during the dryer cycle. It's a safety device to prevent overheating and if it's stuck open the machine will appear to work properly .... just no heat. Test with ordinary meter or continuity tester by removing the wires and checking across the device. Replacement is easy usually 2 screws and inexpensive ( less then $10)

I have no heat from my hotpoint aquariur ctd20 tumble dryer

The element and stats are located behind removable panel at rear of m/c.
To test , you will need a multi meter set on the ohms range for continuity check., and you need to pull the wires of the components to get a proper reading.
THE M/C MUST BE UNPLUGGED prior to this check.
Check and clean all filters, remove the front bottom left filter, and clean by running under cold water.
Hope this helps.
Plz rate my solution
Thanks.

Hotpoint vtd20 dryer aquarius - cuts out when overheats

You can get spare parts on line by going to,
www.hotpoint.co.uk
Re your other prob ,it is probably due to a fault with the heater, disconnect the heater and run the dryer .if it does not cut out then your heater needs replacing.

Tumble dryer not drying

Either dryer element has failed, thermostat for drying or the drying condenser fan not working.

There are two heating elements and the top one is for drying.

Aquarius 1200 wd62 - Dryer not working

Most likely it is some sort of blockage in the vent, although it could be a bad blower. Check the lint filter and vent openings for a blockage.
