Very typical of View Sonic. Sounds like a back backlight or inverter. I would go to and open up a RMA. Most view sonic screens have a 3 year warranty. They will repair at no cost ..(if it is within that period) There is a date code on the back of the screen that will help you validate the above information.

Viewsonic VG2021m Image Vanishes on Start Up

It is the picture picture board on your monitor that is malfunctioning, since the power led or button is on, but the display screen goes blank after a few seconds, it means the picture board of your monitor has developed fault.

The best thing for you to do now is to take the monitor to a local repairer within your vicinity or any service center to help with the replacement of the picture board because the fault is not something you can fix yourself, in order not to complicate issues.

Take care.

Blank screen

You probably got yourself a bad backlight or better yet a bad inverter board inside. A lot of experts found if you open this thing up and See any puffed up capacitors replace them as that could also cause this issue. But viewsonics had a issue with a bad capacitor on the power supply board.

I sure hope this information is Very Helpful to you!

Monitor goes blank coming out of power save mode

I found this on the Internet...

"Press the "Input" button on your LCD monitor's front panel repeatedly at three- or four-second intervals until your monitor wakes up. If your monitor is set to an incorrect input mode, it won't receive a video signal. After you reset the monitor to the proper input mode, it will receive the signal and wake up automatically."

You most likely have a capacitor that has changed value. When a capacitor goes bad it will work after it heats up. Sometimes a bad cap will have a bulging top or show signs of leakage. Sometimes can only be checked with a meter.

Problem with monitor

Are you able to see a slight image on it at dusk and maybe with the help of a flashlight. since your blue light stays on the video board, may be okay.
It sounds like you have bad capacitors on your powerboard or possibly a burned out transistor on the inverter.

Only way to really tell is to open it up.
If you unplug the screen to video board ribbon, you may notice a different effect in the screen lighting.
There is a chance one of your bulbs is creating a problem
Should the screen happen to light up all white, then your power board and inverter are okay and the problem may be in the video board.
If it looks pinkish or dark or flickers then the bulbs or a bulb may be the issue.
If it flashes on then goes off, it's in the power or inverter board.
