Hi, My Nokia 130 phone does not display number for incoming calls. It shows "private number" for all the incoming numbers. I tried moving contacts from SIM to phone, removed duplicate entries. Even restored the factory settings twice. But still it does not help. I will be grateful for any help in this regard.
if the caller number is displayed, check you contact, might have enter same caller number even if different names.
if not,try to reset your phone,go to settings and restore factory default or just type *#7780# for soft reset (nothing will be erase and back to default) or *#7370# for fukk format or hard reset (this will erase all of your data stored,be sure to back up important data defore proceeding)
This is why your caller's name won't display when they call in. You basically have the names stored twice in your phone, one on your memory stick and the other on your phone. For you to sure of this; get a number and store it on the sim and store it the second time on the phone. Call in and you would notice that the callers name won't show.
Back up the contacts via the Nokia PC suite, delete and re-save on the phone. This would solve the problem.
The caller is using private number. If you wanna know who's calling you, turn off your phone. If the caller always call you all the time, you'll be lucky. Because there will voice message received from the operator and you are able to know the number who's calling you.
You can do that also by typing "#31#(destination no.)" then call.
Caller ID works by displaying the caller infomation that is sent. When you receive the caller ID, it first tries to pair it up with a name in the address book, and if nothing is found, it just displays the number.
If you want the contact's name to show, then you must save it exactly as the caller ID displays it. Most often, only 7 digits are put in, when it needs to be the full 10 digits.
