DVD Volume My Akai LCT2701TD sound works well when watching TV, but when playing the built-in DVD the sound barely works even cranked up. Is there a pot on the DVD that can be adjusted on is this a problem that's unfixable? Thanks, Bob

Have an Akai lc2701td; can't get past the blue screen;w/sound

It won't power up, also I have a small crescent like scratch on the screen. Is it worth salvaging. I like it because it has a built in DVD player.

I have a Akai DVDrw125. I've never been able to connect it between the cable signal in and the TV. It has S-Video in and S-Video out. The manual is worthless. I shouldn't have to switch the S-video cable...

The way I have it set up - cable box out to AKAI cable in, video and audio out of AKAI into TV via RCA. AKAI on channel 3, tv on RCA input. Change channels on Cable box, works fine. To watch a video, just put it in an hit play. Might have to change sources on AKAI if this is not working for u.

The DVD player has a separate volume control - make sure the DVD player's remote volume is turned up as well as the TV's.

Akai model lct2721ad. tv.

Mine does this all the time. It appears to be a factory flaw. The only way around it is to set the channel you are watching to "MONO" and the crackling sound will disappear.

RCA Audio Out not working?

You don't say whether you're successfully getting sound out of your stereo or not. I'll assume for the moment you are. Still getting sound out the TV is perfectly normal - RCA plugs have no mechanism for automatically disconnecting the built in speakers (in this respect, they're different from a headphone socket). Solution should simply be to press the mute button on the TV remote - although this will silence the TV speakers, you wouldn't normally expect it to affect the RCA output (failing that, just turn the TV volume control right down). Connecting TV

If your tv has line out jacks, run cables to the "play" jacks in the back of the 300. If your running satelite, run the sound cables to the player instead of the tv. If your running a vcr player seperate, you can run those sound cable to the back ot the 300. The video cable would go straight to the tv.

Hope this helps.

Sound quality - Akai LCT2701TD

I don't have any problem with sound when I plug my cable wire directly into the TV's coaxial port. It sounds like there is a problem with the speakers or the sound board in the TV. I don't think the cable box would even help. If the TV is still under warranty, maybe you could borrow a cable box from someone else to see if it will work, and if it doesn't, contact Akai tech support again and demand repairs.
