First you need to know what model of your sound card then try to search it on webpage sample: "download sound card driver 'your sound card model' " or if you are using Windows Vista heres the Step:
1. Right click My Computer
2. Go to Device Manager or click it on the left pane
3. Then look for Sound, Video and Game Controllers
4. Right click then Click UPDATE Driver
5. Then Choose what your desire you can try it all then it will uide you how to update driver
6. when it done restart your computer
If your SoundCard is build in install the driver of your mother board if your sound card is not build in install the driver of your sound card or you can run windows live update but you must be online hope i can help with your problem : p
