Not sure I can help but will try. Sounds like you have a blockage in the pipe or jet and when it heats up it is choking. Best way to clean Propane and/or Gas heaters is to blow compressed air through the pipe. You may be able to just blow the air down the pilot light and main jet and it could fix the problem and clear the jet.

If not you will need to pull off the covers to expose the piping and look for the pipe going to the jet or pilot and if you can undo the pipe and blow compressed air through it. You may find a bit of dirt or carbon is causing the blockage. If you undo any pipes make sure you tighten them back up. Hope this solves your problem.
