If you don't mind losing all of your data, get a windows XP install disc, boot from it, and see if you can install a new copy of the operating system. If this is not an ooptuion, google "Bart PE" download this program, run it and let it burn to a CD. Next boot from said CD, and run the command prompt. now type in "CHKDSK C:/r" and let this run. Once it finishes, take the disk out and reboot. THis should fix the problem, best of luck dude ;)

My acer is frozen

When does it Freeze ? if it freeze when you turn on the system try reloading the Operating system , However all the data in the system will be wiped off when you re-install the Operating system , when the system turns On Tap the Alt + F 10 Key simultaneously without stopping until you can see windows loading files or edit boot options , Hit enter when you get edit boot options, It will give you Recovery Console with which you can select the option Restore System to factory Defaults , system will look like as if you took it out of the box

start your computer in safe mode. Here's how to do it.

  • If the computer is running, shut down Windows, and then turn off the power
  • Wait 30 seconds, and then turn the computer on.
  • Start tapping the F8 key. The Windows Advanced Options Menu appears. If you begin tapping the F8 key too soon, some computers display a "keyboard error" message. To resolve this, restart the computer and try again.
  • Ensure that the Safe mode option is selected.
  • Press Enter. The computer then begins to start in Safe mode.
once the computer is in safe mode, click on start > run and type desk.cpl. go to settings and then screen resolution. drag the slider to the left for the lowest setting. then press apply then ok. and restart your PC.

How to i recover my acer netbook from a cd if it has no cd drive?

ok you need to insert the disk, then shutdown the laptop then turn it back on, the first screen that shows up should say the brand name and have some words at the bottom of the screen saying press f12 for setup and so on, as soon as this screen appears press the pause button on the keyboard so the screen freezes, now read the options at the bottom and select which ever button opens the boot menu it will be one of the f something buttons, this will open the boot options menu select boot from cd rom drive and that shud start up the recovery program that will guide you step by step. hope that helps

Have a problem loging in as i have forgotten my password

Hi crazy,

The windows passwords are not easily by passable so follow the steps below and we should get you running.

first we have to start your pc in safe mode, nothing to worry about we are just starting you up in a way where nothing loads and your screen may look a bit weird but that’s normal.

  1. If the computer is running, shut down Windows, and then turn off the power
  2. Wait 30 seconds, and then turn the computer on.
  3. Start tapping the F8 key. The Windows Advanced Options Menu appears. If you begin tapping the F8 key too soon, some computers display a "keyboard error" message. To resolve this, restart the computer and try again.
  4. Ensure that the Safe mode option is selected.
  5. Press Enter. the computer then begins to start in Safe mode.
Once you can see the users screen you should see an extra login name called “administrator” click on that. Now hopefully at this point no one has put a password on the “administrator” account.

Once you are in windows you can go to:

Start Menu> Control Panel> User accounts to change anything on the other accounts, like passwords, pictures and even delete accounts that you may not want.
Please stop back if you have any further questions. I am always happy to help.

Acer aspire 5600 frozen for 10 seconds

Press control alt and delete together - this will give you some diagnostic screens on which you can see the processor activity. If the processor is occasionaly maxed out then this is why your laptop is freezing. From the processes running you may be able to identify which program is tying up the processor. It is quite likely that you have a virus or spyware which is causing this behaviour. Starting the laptop in safe mode [F8] will alow you to see if there is no problem then and remove any virus or spyware.
