  • Remove the Battery. This is one of the most important steps. Don’t take time to think about it, electricity and water do not mix. Cutting power to your phone is a crucial first step in saving it.
  • Dry your Phone. Obviously you need to remove as much of the water as soon as you can to prevent it from getting into the phone. Use a towel or a paper towel to remove as much of the water as possible.

Do you want to know if it's your cp is still working?

First, make it sure it's totally dry without any water or moist before turning on the device.

Second, if it's OK and you know it's out of water inside and the cp was total dry, turn it ON.

Third, if you're not sure and you don't want to take the risk by turning it ON, it is a better option for you to bring it into any cp service center near you.

Cheers

If the water damage is recent try taking it all apart and letting it thouroughly dry out, however if it has been out of commision for some time now then it's likely that there is nothing you can do. Maybe a new battery or something but I'm somehow doubting it. You could try taking it somewhere to have it looked at! Good luck!

The easiest way, though a bit pricey, would be to use T-mobiles own service:

Other options would be to try third party unlockers, though they may be a bit on the shady side. Software unlocking is possible, though it is also possible to brick your phone using untrusted software or by using the software incorrectly.

Sidekick 3 LCD

Nope, It has the same connector but they are pinned out differently so they won't work. I know because I experimented with my sidekick 3, sidekick ID and Sidekick 2.

YOu can get a replacement LCD from ebay, They run about 40-50 dollars.

If you wan't to try here are some instructions.

Sidekick 3 dropped in a cup of water. Water got into screen.

Is the screen blank all the time?

If you look really hard can you see the items on the screen but they are really dark? If so the back light for the lcd may have burned out.

Take a look at the following site for instructions on disassembly.

http://www.gsfx.org/disassembly/index.htm

If you feel comfortable with it, you can easily replace your own.
A new lcd runs about 50 dollars shipped. If you buy it from ebay, they will usually come with instructions and the screwdriver you need. A T6 torx driver is the type needed.

Good job on drying it out and pulling the battery. Thats the best thing you can do when you get it wet!

Perhaps the battery is not in correctly, the phone was dropped in water, The phone is broken, or you're pressing the wrong button.
