When u try it as a tv no picture, but does it have sound?Than ur LCD inverter board it dead.Tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a refurbish LCD inverter boad for the replacement. It a long board in shape.
Sounds as though you have the set in zoom format. Check your remote for a screen format button and switch it to wide or normal format. This button may also be labeled as "Aspect" for aspect ratio which is the ratio of of width to height. Older sets had a ratio of 4:3 and the new wide screen sets are 16:9. In zoom format the pic. is expanded and pushes some of the pic. off the screen display area.
the problem is the setting of format.you record it again, but you need to set the format.like, for wide screen 16:9.choose the most suitable screen format for you.but, just to be sure, choose letter box or LB. you can find the setting in the menu or set-up
Sounds like you have a short somewhere, probably the Horizontal Output Transistor. If there is a fault the led you mentioned probably should be blinking. You probably are going to need a tech to look at this as it is a very complicated process of elimination.
sOUNDS LIKE YOUR OVERSCANNING FOR SOME REASON.. MMM STRANGE AS USUALLY THERES AN UNDERSCAN PROBLEM IN THE VERT WITH THESE SETS.Opps sorry about caps. I would check to see the power supply ic and make sure its not putting out more then its supose to as I remeber those are between 125 and 130 volt dc output. as maybe the High Voltage shutdowns not working.oh is is too long and too wide??? if its only like too tall there is a small opot on the pcb thats for the verticle height buit its so small and easy to break off and if you do that the set will lose the verticle sweep totally. good Luck
