My Nokia N72 cell phone cannot play video video files. I have installed smartmoview. While trying to play a file it says "required codec for VIDX missing. download codecs from www.lonelycatgames.com/mobile/smartmoview. I have tried but not working. Please help me to solve my problem.

If there's no database or firmware problem, it should play mp4 audio streaming files, but remember, it doesn't support "Mp4" video files. It supports only ."3gp" video files and "mpeg4.rm".
If you have installed or if you use application like smart movie, then definitely it would support other formats too. But unless you install additional codec, it'll never be able to play other files except 3gp and mpeg4.rm.

Nokia N72 Built with Symbian operating system 60 series. Some times older S60 softwares cannot be supported. Remember N72 supports SIS installation files But also support some sis files. the difference you can able to notice SIS and sis. Try to install SIS files rather than sis. Upon my knowledge N72 supports most of the sis older installation files which supports 3650,6600,7610 Nokia mobiles
