Cd is not showing up on xbox 360 as playable.

There is sadly some of the original Xbox games that isn't playable for a reason I do not know.

I am assuming you are referring to playing original Xbox games on your new 360. Halo was the only game from the box that you can play directly without needing to download the patch to play but supposed newer systems have the capability to play more directly out of the box.

Other backwards compatable games can be played but you will need a samll patch for each game. The game if playable will automatically attepmt to download the patch from xbox live. So you will need to have your Xbox 360 conected to live or have a patch disk. (which is available via the Xbox Magazine disk or can be downloaded online and burned to a disk)

Can you connect to XBOX Live to get firmware updates??
I assume you always update when the game gives you the oppurtunity, these updates include playability issues, glitches, etc.

common, take the game to GameCrazy. They have an insane machine that cleans scratches. For $2 they will get rid of 98% of the scratch making it playable.

Just remember that while its great to be able to backup your games, it is against the xbox tos. Not to mention game backups are not playable on xbox live. You will get banned in a heartbeat.

The 360 can only play a certain few games from the original Xbox, and some of these have errors when playing. Here is the list of currently playable games and an FAQ about them.

After a while of play on your xbox 360, The eye, or other components within the console wear down. If none of the disks are being read as playable, the eye could be broken and worn. I hope that the console is under warranty, or the repair would cost $99.

Hi i had the same problem on my 360,
so i got a new laser off of ebay,
and that didn't fix it so then i read some fourms,
and found that my drive motor that spins the disc was broken,
so i replaced that and now the xbox is working like new again :)
