Problem with fujifilm xd card for camera, won't read the photos.

I have a fujifilm xd 2mb card for my camera. Today it gave a 'write error'. I can't see my old photos even when it's in the card reader of the pc. Does this mean my photos are lost? Please help!

This should not be to hard to recover.

Unless reformatted it is likely that only file indexing problem is the issue.

My Fujifilm 128MB XD card shows 'Read error' when inserted into my camera, but the photos will display on my computer - HELP!!

If you have rotated the images on your PC, you may find that your camera is not able to process the images correctly.

If not, try backing the photos up onto computer, format the XD card and then try copying the pictures back if you need to have them on the camera.

Screen says card error

Fujifilm FinePix E550 Card Error Problem: With camera OFF, remove XD card. Turn camera ON & "take" a couple of pictures. Turn camera OFF & reinsert the XD card. Turn on & it should be good to go. It sems strange that this info is not available on the fujifilm website where they suggest to take the camera to "the nearest authorized FUJIFILM repair facility."

"error write" memory card XD M 1Gb

You may want to check Fuji's website and make sure that the 1gb card is compatible for the camera. You may need to have the firmware in the camera upgraded to support storage that large.

Initializing xd card

Put the camera into play or review mode then hit the ok/menu button on back and format the card. This will erase all of your photos so make sure you've backed them up or download them.

Olympus xd powercard cannot read

Hi Christie,
Are you using genuine Olympus cards?.
The Chinese Ripoffs are often 256K reprogrammed to appear to your camera and computer as 1 or 2Mb.
And the chips are mostly rejects. if you compare the two you can usually see that the counterfeits silkscreen printing, is off color or misaligned. The batteries are garbage also..

One thing you might want to try is to buy a bottle of isopropal alcohol ( do not use rubbing, as it contains lanolin) costs you about $.99 Using a Que tip, lightly clean the gold contacts on the Xd cards. Wiping parallel with the contacts.

If you need to replace the card, go to the Olympus website accessories page for your camera.
They have reconditioned 2Mb type M cards for only $20.00
and they are warranted.
Don't bother with the Xd M+ as they are only fractionally faster for video applications. I hope I was of some help.
Best regards, Paul

READ ERROR

I would try another card with the camera to see if there is a fault in your camera or the USB cable. If the other card works fine, then there nay be some compatibility issues with the M type XD card in your camera. Just for reference: I have several older FujiFilm digital cameras that I still will not use the newer style cards with. Newer meaning the 'M' and 'H' series cards. Fuji says they will work fine, but I'm always leery of newer techno gear being 100% compatible with older stuff.
