Printing problem on Windows 2003 Standard (with SP2 R3)

Dear Sir,

One of our customer is using Windows 2003 Server Stanrard edition (SP 2 R2).

Howevrer when he tried to print any document, the information printed is incomplete. Also he has installed PDF drivers. When he tries printing it using this driver, the samething happens.

What could be the problem? Is there any settings that we can try with

Thanks & Regards,

Try installing the printer as a new port. Use the ip address to print to, and download the latest driver. Use a PCL 5 driver if there is one.

What do you mean with incomplete?

Do you mean the print out is cut of? Means not the whole page is printed out?

Or the the pages are not all printed out.?

Check the print processor settings. I have had issues with this if it is not set to RAW and WinPrint.

.
Try with PostScript driver. You can find it in hp.com website.
Might be in this link (depend on the exact type of your printer) for HP http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareIndex.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodNameId=74343&prodTypeId=18972&prodSeriesId=74341&swLang=8&taskId=135&swEnvOID=1005
Anyhow, some driver (printer) do not compatible with some application
I had a similar experience, so for certain application, I print in pdf first, then print the pdf file with that printer.

Hi,

The details of the environment is as follows:

1. OS : Windows Server 2003 Standard Ediition R2 (SP2 updated)
2. Citrix Server is installed
3. Printer used: HP LaserJet 5100 PCL 6
4. Problem description:
The information printed from the Office application is being printed properly.
However when we try to print from our application partial information is being printed. [Randomly some text will be missing]

We faced the same problem, while printing using PDF995 driver. However we were able to solve this problem by enabling the property "Enable Advanced Printing Features" [under Advanced properties]. But the same thing is not working for the printer

We tried using another PDf Driver [PDF Creator]. Even here we had the same problem. But we could solve it by enabling the above mentioned proprty.

Any Solution???

Thanks ^& regards,

Harish Sohani

1) Please can you give me the model of the printer? This can speed the solution of the problem. Pdf drivers can give the possibility to create a pdf archive or print a pdf. Personally i use pdf995 or adobe
this works well for me.
I'await your answer
Thanks in advance

Hi

To reply your query in short. If you have any of the following versions of server it would support the maximum RAM upto 4 GB.

Windows Server 2003 R2 Standard Edition
Windows Server 2003, Standard Edition SP1
Windows Server 2003, Standard Edition SP2
Windows Storage Server 2003
Windows Server 2003, Standard Edition
Windows Small Business Server 2003

If you are using : Windows Server 2003, Web Edition
It will support only 2 GB of RAM

Yes is possible. Use Routing and Remote Access facility from Windows 2003 server to create a VPN Server. Create a VPN connection to Windows server, and thus you get an IP address from windows 2003 server and you can use printer.
