My bb pearl 8100 is going crazy! The select button keeps pressing itself every couple of seconds causing me to send messages to people that are not yet complete and call people when I am going through my contacts. It only started doing it a few days ago and I no longer have my data cable, however I have ordered one online and downloaded bb desktop manager to try and reset my phone. Will this work or should I be trying something else?

It is pearl 8100.They need the phone model and not the company.By the way BIS only works for blackberry and not bsnl gprs.to activate the Blackberry Plans just call 1505 or 1800 180 1505 from BSNL

There is probably some corrosion underneith the center dome cover on the select button. It is held on by some tape. Simply remove the track ball then remove the center select button dome and clean/scrap both sides with a small screwdriver and reinstall. You will probably have to retape it down. This should get you up and running in no time.

YOUR BB MMS SETTINGS IS CORRUPTED SO CALL YOUR SERVICE PROVIDER AND ASK THEM TO SEND THE MMS SETTINGS TO YOUR BB.

I got my BB 8100 unlock code from here.
it hardly took me 30 seconds to key in the code and have my BB unlocked.

1. In the address book, press the Menu key.
2. Click Options.
3. Click General Options.
4. Set the Allow Duplicate Names field to No.
5. Press the Menu key.
6. Click Save.

Assuming you have an 8100 pearl I believe for some reason this phone does not do mms. either that or the following is true.

With certain wireless providers a BB data plan may be required for MMS to function. For example, T-Mobile has a $0.00 feature that can be added to a persons account to enable MMS (which is included in messaging packages) without enabling full data capabilities. I believe Alltel offers a similiar feature. Contrastingly, ATT BB's cannot send or receive MMS without the $30, minimum, BB data feature being on the account. I'm waiting for a class action suit against ATT for taking subscribers money for messaging packages, that include picture messaging, but not providing all of the services being paid for by some PDA phone users.
