We purchased a trailer from Manteca trailer sales and the TV was a gift. They purchased it from the Walmart in Manteca, which is 2 plus hours away. We checked our local Walmart and it doesn't seem to have this model in stock. The problem with the TV is that the left side of the picture is purple and trying to adjust the color does not change the purple. What can you do for us?

Re: 20" digital flat stero tv moel CR202EM8
It sounds magnetised. Is there a magnet near that side... like a speaker?
It probably needs degaussed. Many TV shops have a device that does this, at a cost to you. Also, the set degauses itself for about a second when it's first turned on after being off for a while. So it may go away by itself eventually.

options to consider: how old is your samsung,is it still in warranty and do you have the purchase reciept. If in warranty, that is your cheapest way out. an aftermarket tv repairman will be at least 200.oo ive see new 40 in apex reconditioned flat screen for 325.00 at walmart online, but not in the store where the price is higher. and with free ship to your local walmart and you can buy a extended 3 year warrantee which is not good if you loose the reciept. do buy a plug into wall surge protector so that you dont blow out your new tv that you bought on a internet sale from walmart.
This is common with new technologies when people are used to the old CRT tvs that lasted a lifetime. There has been talk of how manufactures are doing this purposely for repeat sales...but I have no proof of those statements from them. Your best bet is going with the BB and filing a claim, but those often get forgotten as well.
the Majority of problems on this and all other LCD TV's are capacitor problems the power pack needs smooth power to work correctly however the warranty should be valid and you need the proof that you bought it and you need to know who to contact about the 2 year warranty it may be Emerson you need to speak with not Walmart. I would contact them next(Emerson), or whom ever the third party repair service is that will cover the Warranty. hope this helps
i had the same problem with a 32 inch and i kept "clicking" the channel changer on the remote to force the tv to go to another channel (that had previously been selected during the initial auto scan) --- still trying to figure out why the tv locks onto the scanning for channel
