Follow the tutorial in this link to flash your phone http://www.cellphone-tutorial.com/2010/08/lg-gw300-software-upgrade-flashing.html . If you can find some one with the Octopus Box it's a 2 minutes 123 process. I just flashed 3 LG GW300 phones that were stuck on logo's and looping. Re-flashed and worked like a charm. If re-writing the firmware doesn't work then you might have a bad flash chip or the cpu could be overheating (just fixed a Nexus One stuck on logo with overheating problem). If you want the FIRMWARE I USED email me and I'll send it to you. firstname.lastname@example.org.
To upgrade the firmware of your phone is very simple. What you need to do is to go the lg website and download the lg mobile support application and then you connect your phone to the computer and the application will give you the available upgrades available for the lg gt505.
Then you make sure your phone is fully charged before you carry out this. Try to save your contacts and back up the files of your phone before you do this. After connecting your phone and browsing it out with the lg mobile support, it will take a while to upgrade. Make sure you do not operate the phone while you are upgrading.
You can get the mobile support tool from the lg website. If you need help finding the tool, you can ask me and i will get you the link for you.
you can download to pc or directly to cell (as long as you have an unlimited data plan)...download firmware to pc is just as quick...you connect the cell via usb cable to pc.....(make sure your cell phone connection is switched to data) find the cell on pc (my computer) open it you should see data folder...open and extract the firmware and place it there ...disconnect power down cell / up again to see if firmware was taken
Cookies turning off at random are a known problem with software before version 10C - find your software version under settings/phone settings/handset information - update it if you have V10B - You have to send the phone to the repair centre for a firmware upgrade because the software tool on the LG website does not yet support this phone. If you are in UK, the number for their helpline is 0870 0505 123.
LG mobile uk, have now released the newest firmware for KP500 Cookie V10d, BUT with also the Flash Loader Utility Programme that has stopped many of us upgrading the mobile, I have waited 6 months!!! But as of yesterday I was able to finally install new firmware. Follow the instructions, installing software PHONE SOFTWARE UPDATE then when you install it will take you through each step and install flash programme and drivers, once these are install it will ask you to take out your battery and connect the mobile to usb and pc, this will load the flash loader with success. Then remove usb pop battery back in connect mobile with connectivity PC Suite and away you go, it took about 25 mins and i am with Vista. Hope this helps so many. Take care and enjoy your phone without restarts!!!! Lisa
