SONY GRAND WEGA 42" replaced the bulb and now it takes a long time to come on

this problem could be a defective bulb or wrong type you put in, or a defective lamp ballast and/ or thermal fuse. if you are a technician you can change both, or refer to outside service for repair.

HOW TO REPLACE LAMP

Check on You Tube there is a video that will walk you through it. Be sure it is the lamp that is the problem before you spend your hard earned money.
Lamp light flashing once every 5 seconds or twice every 5? Twice every 5 seconds,....lamp failure, once every 5 seconds,...ballast or thermal fuse failure. You have a lamp, ballast or thermal fuse problem. The ballasts are a discontinued part and can only be purchased used at approx. $225.00 or rebuilt for around $175.00 less any service charges to diagnois and repair.

Trouble with tv coming on to long and new bulb didn't work

Is the lamp light blinking twice every 5 seconds or once every 5. Once every 5 sec. lamp failure,...twice every 5 sec.. ballast or thermal fuse. The ballast is discontinued and must be rebuilt or purchased used,.....try Ebay. NO TV REPAIR SHOP IS GOING TO HAVE THE BALLAST! They may be prudent enough to check into and find the rebuild kit for the ballast. FYI a rebuilt ballast costs around $175.00 ,....the rebuild kit costs anywhere from $12.00-$55.00

SONY KDF70XBR950 DLP TV 6 Blinks. Is it on the G1 Board? and does anyone know the fix? Thank You.

First double-check all your connections and wiring. Make sure there is nothing looose or broken. The capacitors also could be swoolen and burned out. You can test with capacitor tester. Thermal fuse or flyback is also possible and common causes. Lamp burn out? Do you have power to the bulb socket? Power to ballast that bulb attaches to? Last solution wold be to replace the board

Lamp will not light

At first i was thinking the ballast had gone bad but after reading a few other post i think it would be best to call pannasonic..
others forums read:
ballast had gone bad. Panasonic no longer makes these ballasts so mine needed to be rebuilt at the tune of $400.00.

With the ballast in place still nothing so now they claim that they need to order a "kit" from Panasonic which basically is all the components of my tv.

Vulb,
Having had to change the lamp I would suspect the lamp thermal fuse is open... It's located over the duct for the fan housing and solders into the ballast board.. Check it for continuity and if open replace it..
There are several thermal fuses in that unit and not all of them as easy to access as the lamp one.
Good Luck
Bill

Panasonic PT-45lc problem

I took the rear bottom off of the set, lots of screws to take off.
On top of the bulb housing is a small yellowish thermal fuse.

I took mine completey out, jumped the black wire together, and bingo.set works perfectly.
