Windows did not start successfully a recent hardware or software might have caused this

Try to boot the computer in safe mode.check whether it is working.
Boot the computer in advanced option by tapping F8 and select :Disable automatic restart on system failure and restart the system.
It will give an BSOD error code ie:0X000000... something like that.
troubleshoot according to that. post the error code

did you recently install a new hardware ?
did you recently install a new software?
if you answered yes to any of these questions above you need remove it.
therefore if you installed a new hardware safely shut down and remove cables and remove hardware.( if it is hardware the hardware is not compatible with windows)
if it a software boot in safe mood then uninstall software. ( to boot in safe mood, press F8 while computer in turned on )

If you added any exta hardware means kindly remove it and boot the computer
Then you try boot by selecting the option of Boot using last known good configuration.
If the boot is successful then you can boot later booting without any problem.

If boot is not successful and this problem is happened after installing any software or driver software means boot in safe mode by pressing f8 key and uninstall it

Computer starts but do not start with xp

You should try starting in safemode, if no menu at start, just press F8 after the bios.
perhaps after a restart in safe mode it should have fixed itself, if you add some hardware try to remove it to try,
