Aside from reformatting try opening the device as a seperate file in Windows and delete individual music files and folders. When you first install your device on your pc the option to open this folder or keep it closed automatically is presented to you. Most users turn this option off because it's easier at first to use the media player.

Go to my computer scroll to sansa or your MP3 player and open the music folder and open each sub folder and delete Songs manually then delete the folders themselfs then format a couple of times hope this works

Try and drag and drop from your music folder to the media folder on the player make sure usb mode is msc this will show you all the folders Use your windows explorer for the transfer... much easier...If you don't have copies of your music copy to a folder on the computer2.gif first

Problem recognizing songs in sansa e260 mp3 player.

From what I'm hearing you don't have a good driver. If you still have the disk use that. If not google it or something. I have a Sansa e260 as well so I would suggest loading the songs on in windows media player rather that windows explorer. If you open Media Player and then go to sync and it does not recognize your device, then you have a bad driver. If not, then start syncing your songs that way.

Hope everything works,

Playing a song?

Did you use your own cd's? If so, did you use Windows Media Player to copy (rip) them to your computer? Windows Media Player, by default, has "copy protect my music" selected. To remove this, in Windows Media Player select Tools>Options>Rip Music and un-check the copy protect my music mark. You will need to delete the music you already transferred, then re-copy the music without protection, then re-transfer them to your device. Best of Luck.
