Pressing Ctrl + F12 should not have caused what you are saying.
Check your power adaptor is there a light on the power adaptors case if not check the fuse.
Is there a light lit anywhere on the laptop when the power adaptor is plugged in.
If you have lights on the power adaptor but not the laptop have the output of the adaptor checked.
If you have lights on the adaptor and laptop try the following.
One trick that can re-set things is to remove the RAM, HDD, Battery and power adaptor, fit it back together and try to power up.
Hope this helps.

I have a MX 3200 wireless keyboard and mouse. the

The problem was that ther keyboard was encrypted for my protection. this sometimes prevents the keyboard from connecting to the receiver and therefore the computer. to stop encrypton: press the left CRTL + left ALT + F12 key at the same time. Press the connect button on the receiver (you only have a few seconds to then press the connect button on the keyboard. Press the ESC key. Now you must start the encrypton again. Install SetPoint software from www.logitech.com/downloads. after you save and run the program, then press left CTRL + left ALT + F12 keys. sometimes there is an encrytpion wizard that pops up to help you further encrypt the keyboard, but this does not always pop up. It didn't on mine. My keyboard just started working right after i re-sarted the encryption.

hope this helps others that were in my situation.

Mx3200 keyboard

I had exactly the same problem - ie Logitech MX3000 keyboard with remote mouse and only the "F mode" key and few others seemed to work around the top of the keyboard, but I don't think I had the SetPoint software. So I found it and downloaded it (www.logitech.com/setpoint).

As soon as it was installed I was asked to secure the keyboard by pressing ctrl alt and F12 and then I had to type in a 16 digit code (given on screen) and then my keyboard started working again.

I didn't have a spare keyboard so I used the on-screen keyboard (Start - All Programs - Accessories - Ease of Access - On-Screen Keyboard).

Logitech s510 keyboard

I had this problem for a very long time as well. Turns out this is an encryption issue. It's off-balance. You need to reset the encryption, and here's how:

On the LEFT side of your wireless keyboard press and hold Ctrl+Alt, and press F12, then release all three buttons. Now push the Connect button on your Wireless Receiver, then the connect button on your wireless keyboard. Now press Esc. Try it. See if it works. It did for me.
