You can Have up to 2 GB RAM, but it may not be worth the upgrade, it would cost $25 for each new 512mb PC133 ram module, bringing you up to $100 for maxing the ram...
unless you're running the max CPU (2.2ghz?)

Does Toshiba Portege 3490CT ram can be bigger than 128. If so adv availability & selling outlet please.

Hello,

The motherboard has 128 MB memory (soldered on board). However there is still empty slot for further upgrade. You can install another 128 MB PC100 SDRAM memory to get maximum of 256 MB.

I would like to nwom how much of memory this laptop support

The Thinkpad is installed with 128 MB SDRAM is standard, and is expandable to 512 MB
There are two memory slots, to expand it to 512 Mb you need two 256 Mb RAM modules and throw away the 128 Mb RAM module, but if you don't throw away this module and you insert a 256 Mb RAM module in the 2nd memory slot then your total memory would be 384 Mb.

RAM cuantity

The motherboard you mentioned supports DDR1 RAM.

For windows xp and general application 512 MB is enough.
But if you use memory intensive applications like image/video editing then you can opt for 1-2 GB RAM.

I NEED RAM

Hi zouganeli,

You can install one, two or three modules. Each memory module can hold a maximum capacity of 128 MB of standard SDRAM chips, or 256 MB of registered SDRAM chips so maximum memory capacity is 384 MB of standard SDRAM memory or 768 MB registered SDRAM memory.

Hope that helps

Take care,

Michael
