Question about Westinghouse L1975NW Monitor

1 Answer

New widescreen Monitor

I bought a 19" widescreen monitor at best buy and cannot change the resolution to 1440x900. I think my graphic's card is too old. ATI Tech Inc. Rage P/M MobilityAGP 2x. Last update is 1999. Is there anything I can do other than buy a new graphic's card. My husband's birthday is tomorrow.

I was able to use my old monitor to change the screen refresh rate to 60 and that worked.

I just purchased the L1975NW monitor and cannot set the resolution to 1440x900. I called Best Buy and the Geek Squad guy suggested I download a driver from Westinghouse. I haven't been able to find one there though.

my monitor's field is larger than the screen. I can't find a way to size the screen field down to fit the 19" format.

Resolution capabilities are a complicated blend of the abilities of your graphics card and the abilities of your screen. You will not always get a 1:1 match. You can improve your chances by installing the "monitor information" file that is usually supplied on a CD that comes with the monitor. Also, updating the drivers for your graphics card (see the manufacturer's web site) might help.

This is not a monitor problem. This is a mother board problem, some mother boards are supporting this resolution. For this problem, you have to replace the mother board or put the graphics card on the same mother board.your problem will solve.

I recently purchased and installed the P191W monitor, and now my pictures are stretched. I was told I new to get a new graphics card. What card should I get? Or can I just update the driver? I am running...

Find your monitor's native resolution, in your case it's 1440x900. Go to display settings (usually right-click on desktop and choose properties), go to settings tab and move the resolution slider until it shows 1440x900. Confirm, the screen should flicker for a moment and adjust - and you should be fine.
If there is no 1440x900 resolution available, then installing a monitor .inf file that came on a disk accompanying the monitor might help.

I have the same problem! Here's what I did: Go into the Display control panel, go to SETTINGS, click on ADVANCED, and then on the ADAPTER tab, then on LIST ALL MODES. There are several 1400 settings. Try them out and see which one is best for you.

Input not supported when trying to play a game

the game will need to be set to the same screen resolution as your monitor or the best that suits, beccause of it being widescreen, so look in the graphic or video settings in the game, or change the resolution of your monitor to suit the games highest setting. This is done by right clicking on your desktop, down to properties and then the settings tab in the next window and then move the slider at the screen resolution box.
