Question about Sony Ericsson Walkman® W880i Cellular Phone

1 Answer

Switching off? Hi, My w880i is continually switching itself off. (10-20 times per day) Ive preformed a master reset, system update, and had it sent for repairs twice with no result. I'm about to kill my service provider (3 mobile for anyone that was interested, never ever sign up with them) as they have made no effort so far to replace my phone, and have given me a major run around trying to avoid the problem. Does anyone know a fix for this or is the phone just a piece of rubbish as I suspect?

Appears there may be a fault between the battery and the handset, definitely faulty, I'd contact sony ericsson themselves and submit the handset for a warranty repair (if it's under a year old this should be free) other than that your options are really just to buy a new one or cancel your contract. re warranty repair, if SE agree to this expect not to see your phone for about a month as it's normally 28 days or longer for these, re 3, yep they're ****, I should know as I used to work for them, hope this helps.

If you forgot the security password, then you need to master reset the phone. I recommend you to contact your service provider to get the master reset code.

I am unable to turn on bluetooth on my Nokia 6700 Classic. I have tried EVERY fix listed in ALL the forums I have tried and still it just continuously shows "switching on bluetooth"

You need to try a master reset and if this fails a software update through Ovi suite, if this does not work you need to contact nokia.

Sony Ericsson W880i contact list fault, phone works perfectly except when accessing the contacts list then it just switches off

1) If you still have a warranty then give your phone to an SC
2) Try making "Master Reset" (preferences->settings->master reset)
3) Flash your firmware using SeTool2

Sony ericsson w760i resets itself

There are multiple reasons why you cannot update the phone. Are you on original software or did you debrand it? Either way, the phone does reset itself sometimes, it's a common problem that SE still has to fix unfortunately. It happens more often if you multi-task on the phone, e.g. listening music and running GPS or browse the web at the same time.

Sony ericsson w880i fault

Hi,

This is most probably a software problem. I would recommecnd flashing your phone with the Sony Ericsson update service.

W880i switches itself off

You guys should take out your battery and look beside the contacts. There should be a white sticker. If it's a red sticker or somthing other like that then it means the inside of your phone has been wet. Another potential problem is that it could be the memory card or the back cover. remove the memory card and leave the back cover off. See if there is any piece missing from the back cover and try holding the battery in and seeing if it randomnly turns off then.

As a last resort back up all your fiels and do a master reset. This will clear everything off the phone so make sure you have copied or sended what you want to keep.
