My 16 month old pressed something on the DVD player while the babysitter was with her and now the DVD player will not open when pressing open/closed. "LOCKED" appears on screen. We are able to go through all 5 discs and play them. How do you unlock it?

Re: DVD player is "LOCKED"
Well, at least the child-lockout works, right?
I have a similar Pan. HT system and I suspect you will have to go through the main menu and look for settings regarding 'tamper-proofing' to prevent just such 16 month-olds from inserting their jelly bread into the DVD player.
Your system may differ from ours but you should be able to find that feature in your user manual.
If the manual is gone, you might want to try this page:

You may try power resetting the unit and check if it helps. To power reset, turn OFF the DVD player and unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet for 30 seconds. Plug the power cord back into the electrical outlet and turn the player ON. Attempt to open the disc tray.
Depending on the model number of your DVD player, simultaneously press the POWER + STOP + EJECT buttons. If the disc tray still does not open, simultaneously press the DISC1 + STOP + EJECT buttons.
NOTE: This step may not apply to all models as DISC1 is not available on all DVD players.
If this does not work and if the DVD player has DISPLAY and PREV buttons, press and hold the DISPLAY+PREV buttons for two seconds to unlock the drawer.
Press and hold the Track
Down button on the player
Press the Power On button
to turn on your player
Wait until the machine
shows "----" on the display
Release the Track Down
button on the player
Using the main remote
keypad, enter the digits 1, 0, 1 and 1, then press Enter
The machine should now
display "D-00" and be region free
If you are unable to get the tray of the dvd player open either the player will have a hole in front for you to stick a (I use a straightened out paper clip) into and press in towards the dvd player. It will manually open the drive so you can retrieve your dvd or there will be enough of a lip on the tray door you can grab it and pull it open manually. Then I would try unplugging the player and waiting a few minutes and plugging it back in and you might get lucky and it may never happen again. Good luck . Hope it works.
hehehe, its funny problem. let me try to help you.

Once you have connected your dvd player to your tv and the tv is turned on.

Open/Eject the disc tray.
Press STOP on the remote control.
Enter the following numbers slowly on the remote control " 7,3,4,4,6,6,0".
Configuration will appear on the bottom left hand side of the TV for three seconds.
Press "PLAY" to close the tray.
The DVD player eill return to normal operation.
This SHOULD make the player Region free.
