Question about Canon MV600 Mini DV Digital Camcorder
On power up of the video camera a message [NO CARD] pops up,then when i come to press the red button to record footage another message pops up[IN CARD POSITION] please can anyone advise me with solution many thanks
my canon MV600i will not play back recordings. The screen shows a warning light flashing red to say that there is a problem with the memory card. The thing is - the MV600i does not have a memory card! Models higher up the 600 range have them. Is there a way to reset the camera? thanks
SOURCE: Not able to record the image
I had the same problem. Called Canon tech support @ 1-800-828-4040. Was told it is a problem caused by a chip going bad, and that Canon will repair my camcorder free of charge. They send you a couple of emails. You fill out the form, mail your camcorder off for the repair. You should get your ZR85 camera back in about two weeks.

Canon writes at its website http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=PgComSmModDisplayAct&fcategoryid=227&modelid=9739&keycode=2112&id=29819 Malfunction: It has been confirmed that the connecting parts of the internal wiring of the CCD used in affected products may become disconnected, especially if the affected products are stored or used in high-temperature and high-humidity environments. If this occurs, the signal is not output from the CCD normally in Shooting Mode, which may cause a distorted image or the absence of an image. This malfunction can be confirmed on the LCD monitor screen during shooting. The same malfunction also appears on the recorded image. Canon's Response: Effective immediately, and regardless of warranty status, Canon will repair, free of charge, the products listed above exhibiting the above-mentioned malfunction if Canon determines that the malfunction is caused by the CCD image sensor. Canon will also cover the cost of shipping and handling in connection with this repair. U.S. residents are kindly directed to contact the Canon Customer Support Center for further assistance at 1-800-828-4040. Support hours are Monday thru Friday - 8:00 AM to 12:00 midnight; and Saturday 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM (all times EST). Alternatively, if electronic support is preferred, please send your email to firstname.lastname@example.org

Here's the driver..Connect the camcoder to computer and then install the driver..you can find it here..
Also you might want to buy a firewire card if you want to transfer a footage without any hickups..

SOURCE: in card position
check the SD card and see if the little tab on the side of it is slid to the position that says "lock" If you cant see the words, try just switching the tab to the other side. Since SD means Secure Digital, these cards wont do anything if the lock tab is not in the right position.

the tape most likely has the lock switched on, it's secured so no one can even view it, why it happend, beats me, look at the bottom of the tape, if it has the lock switch, and is pushed up to "lock" push it back down, if that doesn't work than I'm not sure, sorry.
hope this helped- snowsurfer58
