Hi Dan.
Click on the link below.
http://www.acerpanam.com/flex/acerdrivers/bin/drivers.html?CFID=672124&CFTOKEN=33234034

Click Notebook then click on Aspire 3690 then click on RealTek Audio Driver v5.10.0.5273.
You will then see a box below with Download in it.
Click on this link to download the driver.
Double click on the file when it is dowloaded.
It will be a 19mb zip file. Extract the file (Audio.exe) and double click to run. Follow the instructions should be pretty straight forward.
One more thing.
Dont delete ANYTHING on your PC unless you really know what it is ;-)
Hope this helps please let me know the outcome.
I am available to help with any install issues.
Good luck.

Hi got a acer aspire 5315 frozen start up password how do i fix it

if the case is that your bios has a password set and you are not able to enter in the bios configuration mode to remove it the follow steps

go to the ASUS site and get to support page

look for your laptop model and download the latest bios file.

prepare a ms-dos booteable floppy disk, Cd or USB flash drive

copy the bios file to the booteable media together with the flashing program

insert the media in the laptop

Disconnect battery and Ac adapter

Connect USB Floppy drive or a USB Flash Drive or insert a Cd(whichever u choose).

Press [Fn]+[Esc] and plug In the Ac Power adapter, and then press Power button.

Release the buttons. Notebook should read the crisis disk. There will be no sounds, no beeps. It took about 2-3 minutes and notebook powered down itself.

Then plug in the battery simply power it on.

That's all. Now normal screen appears and acer is alive.

if the password is windows related the get a copy of ERD Commander and boot from the cd and follow steps.

Hello,

By accident, your computer's operating system has been compressed. Enable for you to fix this kind of problem, you need to have the windows operating system disk. The disc came with the computer when you bought it.

Here are the things that you need to do:

1. Turn on the computer and insert the installation disc in CD/DVD drive.
2. Turn it off.
3. Turn it on again, once you see a message "press any key to boot to CD", then press any key.
4. You will reach to the options to "Install Now" or "Repair the PC". Select repair the PC.
5. In the System Recovery Options dialog box, choose the drive of your Windows installation
and click Next.
6. Click START UP REPAIR
7. Click Load Drivers if it asks you to do so.
8. After it loads, it will then restart your computer.
9. Don't press any key anymore once it asks you. Remove the CD.

I hope this helps.

Computer emits soft high-pitched sound when plugged in. What's wrong?

It very well could be your hard drive getting ready to go bad...could be months or years, or it is the fan to cool the processor. Identify where the sound is coming from. If it's coming from where the vent is it's you processor fan...no big deal to replace. If it's your hard drive, start backing it up now and start moving everything off that is confidential. Once crashed and disposed of, your information is still accessible. Once you have backed up everything on your hard drive, try formatting the hard drive and reloading a fresh copy of windows on it. I did this several times on hard drives that were for sure going to die and they were all better after a format.

My speaker sound comes out very "fuzzy". Best way to describe the sound is a very "electronic, slow sounding" It is not a hardware issue because a friend of mine was able to fix it but only temp. How do I...

Try going to your start menu, then click on "Run". Once there, type msconfig. Once the new window pops up, click on the startup tab. Browse through there for an ATI Hotkey Poller, or something like that. If it is there, uncheck it, click apply, then OK. Click ok on the prompt to restart. Once back into windows the issue should go away. If that doesn't work, it could be your hard drive dying. Lot's of times the first sign of a hard drive dying is sound issues or jumpy mouse.
Let me know if I can help further.

I need to replace the glass display. i have disassembled and removed the screen. how do i remove the lcd from the plastic casing. i do not see any screws it is an hp pavilion dv1000.

There should be little tabs around the bezel of the display. Under those tabs are screws. Don't forget what screws go where for when you get ready to put it all back together.
