Evolis Pebble Cleaning Kit

I have an Evolis ID Card Printer, and I am trying to run a cleaning card through it. I followed the instructions on the factory cleaning kit for this model printer, but it will not work.

    how to check a PCB, because printer is not connect gemlto. Gemlto light is not continue when check with Sis commend. But other board is continue gemlto light in this printer.now how can check this PCB?

    What does not work? Is the quality of the print still not good? Stripes or white dots. The printing head can also be damaged. There're some cleaning kits which you can purchase. They're not so expensive. look at:http://exceet-card-shop.nl/webshop-artik...

Try right clicking the printer and choose properties under the tols tab there is a "printer self clean" try clicking that with the card at the feeder

Check if feedr Roller is moving.
Look at backside of printer . There is a card thickness adjustment lever where you feed the cards . Make it positioned at 1 mm.

The card have a faint line across after printed. I have cleaned the printer but no luck.


Usually a faint, light line running the full length of the card is indicative of either a need for cleaning, or a problem with the print-head itself. As you've already cleaned the print-head, we can rule that out.

We occasionally see the print-head get scratched, causing this issue. Or, there are occasional (but rare) issues with the electronic components of the print-head. There is not a fix for either, other than to replace the print-head.

Some clients will redesign their badge templates to ensure there is no printing required in the area where the print-head is failed or failing, allowing them to get by without replacement.

As the Pebble line was discontinued in 2012, and it carried only a 2-year warranty, it is unlikely your machine is covered, unless purchased new in April 2013 or later, AND that all required printer cleanings (every 1000 cards) have been done, per Evolis requirements.

I put the cleaning card in, I follow the direction to use, it comes on, but does not pull the cleaning card in.


As you said you followed the recommended direction, I'm assuming you've set the card-thickness gauge by the feed-mechanism to "MAX". Otherwise, there are usually 2 things that users don't get quite right when initiating a cleaning-card cycle on the Evolis Pebble (and Dualys) printers:

  1. Even though the ribbon is already out, you still have to open the lid, then latch it closed EACH TIME you start a cleaning cycle. This is the signal to the printer's "brain" that you've checked for and removed the ribbon and any cards. This step has to be performed with the printer powered on.
  2. We prefer to initiate the cleaning by depressing the power-button momentarily - about 1/2-second to 1 full-second. Less than that, and it might not register; more than that and it might power off.
The other thing you sometimes need to do is help the cleaning card into the printer with light pressure on the trailing edge until it is grasped by the feed roller, as the pre-saturated cards are slicker than a regular PVC card, with the cleaning solution acting almost as a lubricant.

I have an Evolis Pebble 4. For each card printed, a white thin streak appears. This streak cuts through the entire card.


Try cleaning your printer first using the Evolis A5011 Cleaning Kit. If the line is solid and goes across the length of the card, you might have a burned/damaged pixel. Check with Evolis or your Evolis Card Printer supplier for warranty information, your printhead might still be under warranty.

It means you need to insert a cleaning card for cleaning cycle of printer.
Open printer properties Click on Tools tab click on Printer self cleaning button. You will get a new dialog box asking to remove ribbon and cards and insert a cleaning card in feeder.
Insert a cleaning card in feeder . Adjust thickness pointer to maximum remove ribbon and just cleck to proceed for cleaning.

At the moment blank cards are not feed into the printer. The cards are always been jammed and the 3 lights are displaying a MechanicalProblem. I would be extremely happy if you can advise me on how...


You may try cleaning all Rollers including feeder roller.
To move rollers just remove ribbon , feeder and press front panel button and keep it pressed with top cover open . All Rollers will start moving and you can clean them easily using cleaning kit.
Also check for thickness adjustment pointer.

My Evolis Pebble 3 says feeder error but there is not. It won't pick up a card when you try to print but when you press the push button it feeds out a card without printing. It will alos not print a test...


You must take following approach
1. There is a lever at feeder for thickness adjustment . Check it for proper thickness.
2. There is a hanging lever which acts as a card presence detector just where you place cards check if it is stuck and try to clean sensors aside it by blowing air .
3.Check if feeder motor is working by giving Mf;+ command
4.Check for proper ribbon setting.
5. Try downloading firmware which is available as an exe file for different models on Evolis site.
6. diagnostic software is also available on site.
7. You can also do self adjustment to adjust sensors.

Do self adjustment at once.
Clean optical sensors emitting blue light just below you install ribbon in printer

Patchy printing


Problem is with either with cards or with print head's mechanical alignment. Try with some different cards and for head get it tested by some authorised service person.
