I just inherited an older sewing machine. Riccar 8500. It will not pick up the bobbin threadt. It works great otherwise. Have a owner manual for model 8400 that I downloaded. Couldn"t find one for the 8500 series. Is there a trick that I am not doing?
I have an older sewing machine that i am starting my grandaughter out on.it is a Riccar superLite. It will not pick up the bobbin thread and it pulls the material down into the feed dog. I have taken it apart and cleaned and oiled it. I do not have an owners manual.
I have - check the threading - changed thread (upper and bobbin)- replaced needle- Is there anything else i can do.
I don't know if this will help or not, but here is a website where you can download a manual for any of the Riccar products: http://www.riccar.com/help/manuals/

Providing you have the machine threaded correctly and providing you have a new needle in the correct way round it should pick up the thread, if it does not then you need to retime the machine and if you e-mail me and remind me of your problem I will attach timing instructions drivewithken@blueyonder.co.uk
