Something probably corrupted your webcam software or configuration. Probably the best is to uninstall and reinstall the drivers and the software.
Please check http://www.pcauthorities.com/pc-errors/how-to-fix-webcam-problems

The drivers should be here: https://www.shopezonics.com/Articles.asp?ID=108

If you go to your webcam settings, then to "advanced" it should have an option on the left that scrolls down and gives you 3 or 4 options...is yours is on A/E something or other, can't remember right now, but if it's on that...then that's why it looks like you are sitting in a dark room. if you switch it to any of the other ones then it should be fine...

ISO, controls how much light is allowed in your webcam. You can fix it making the ISO the largest.

When i use my web cam everything shows up green.

Well, I tried everything on this list in a matter of 5 minutes. Nothing worked. Then I made the old DSL modem analogy.

Plug in your camera.
Right click on My Computer, go to Properties.
Go to the Hardware panel, and click on device manager.
Find your camera listing in there (probably under imaging devices).
Right click on it, and select uninstall.
Unplug your camera and then replug it in.

Worked for me. Of course, take SilverDragon's advice before mine - you don't want to be configuring the wrong device for hours and not getting any picture at all.
