Question about Refrigerators

RANGE WITH TOO MUCH POWER

I have a Kenmore range that i purchased in 2000. THe main computer board has gone out for the 3rd time. A repair tech tested and told me that there was 260.3 watts coming into it instead of the required 240 ish.

I called my electric company and they confirmed that there was a faulty capacitor bank in my area and they fixed in right away.

My electric company is willing to pay for the computer board but I really think that there has been too much electric all along and that is why this kept going out.

Can you help me with this?

What does E15 fault in a electrolux stove mean?

Thank you for your inquiry, friend!

I understand that you are looking for the meaning of "E15" on your Electrolux range. "E15" stands for ESEC self-test failed, which could either mean and issue within your UIB (User Interface Board) or relay board. I would recommend having a professional come out to diagnose and repair your appliance. Best of luck. -Matt

Kenmore Elite Trio 795.7519 getting a code on panel "ER FF"? What's happening??

you either have a defrost problem starting or a bad evaporator fan motor or a problem with the main control board.kenmore doesn't make any products, other companies make the product and kenmore puts it's name on it,like if it starts with 106. it's whirlpool yours is 795 and that's l.g.made.from some of the sites i looked up i guess there are some serious issues with this machine like the lights staying on and causing fires and main computer board problems that you could have, next time send the full model number, let me ask you when you open the freezer door and you hear the evaporator fan running does it sound louder than normal,if not check the back inside wall of the freezer, look for frost or like snow buildup on the back wall,if so you have a defrost problem, but that error code is to do with the evaporator fan motor or freezer fan ff,i think you have a bad computer board,if you had a defrost problem the coil would ice up and you'd notice the fridge getting warm first because the evap fan can't blow the cold air from the freezer up to the fridge section and you say things are cold so the fan is running but if the computer board is bad it doesn't allow the fan to run as long as it should and it will get worse as time goes by,i would call the 800 number on the machine, tell them your problem and they might fix it for free or send you a new board for free like i say i think there's a recall on this machine and if there isn't all they can say is no we can't help you,i don't do much work on l.g. fridges but the few i've worked on it has been the mother board or main computer board same thing, also there's a tech sheet on the machine, check the front kickplate under the doors and on the tech sheet it will tell you some things to check,on the mother board there's a test button,i'll look into it for you but you press it and i think the first time it starts the compressor and you can press it three times but one of the checks is for the fan i think but i'll see if i can find it. hope this helps, one more thing can you let me know if you get this email,i've helped out other people and haven't heard back from them, just want to know if there's a problem with this site because this happened before.

Why is there an "E" and :"15" on my Electrolux Induction Stovetop? Originally it was beeping but then it stopped.

Good Afternoon Jane - Generally, error code E15 means that the unit is experiencing a power board failure. One of the best ways to determine if this is a false error code is to reset the power to the appliance by either unplugging it or flipping off the breaker for about 30 seconds. If the error code persists, it would be advisable to contact an experienced appliance repair tech to assist further.

GE GSL25JFXLB (250 cu ft) Side by Side Refrigerator

your thermistors are way out of range even at that temperature you say,put each thermistor in a glass of ice water for 5 minutes, then remove the J1 connector from the main board and check with an ohm meter set on 20k ohm between the thermistors common terminal #5 and the other pin terminals all thermistors tested this way should be about 16k ohms when tested this way,if not replace them

Kenmore Side by Side not cooling. New ADC board.

Good day,
It is possible the defrost control failed. If so, it would still be in warranty.
However, the most common part to fail, is the defrost thermostat which is located behind the rear panel, in the freezer compartment.
It is a small round disc about 1" in diameter, mounted to the top of the cooling coil.
It can be tested, with an ohm meter, but must be tested before it can warm to above 30 degrees. It should read zero ohms of resistance.
Rarely, as well, the main heater which is mounted to the bottom of the coil can fail. It's a calrod unit somewhat like the bake element of an electric range. Unplug it, and check the continuity with an ohm meter. It should test out in the 25 to 50 ohms range.

If both check O.K. then the timer has failed, and needs replaced.

Kenmore elite water dispenser not working

We had the same problem after 4 months. A technician came out and told us that our water line within the refridgerator was frozen and that every once in a while we'd have to take a hair dryer to it (!). Of course we told him that was unacceptable so they sent a second tech out who replaced some parts by being walked through the repair over his cell phone. He was unable to tell us what happened or details about the repair. 11 months later our water line froze again and we resorted to a Brita water pitcher.

Test to see if circuit board is okay

From Appliance Aid.com

WHY Force the Arctica to Defrost if it Dont Want to? Don't bother using the self-diagnostics feature to force a defrost cycle. On some models those with control knobs - which technically are not Arctica models (Arctica models have plastic liners with touch pads Standard GE electronic models with metal liners have knobs) servicers would have to invest in parts to build a test control panel, complete with touch pads and digital displays, to achieve this (self-diagnostics) function. Instead, save both time and money by following this helpful Arctica Tip: If a frosted evaporator or a frost block is apparent, initiating a defrost cycle may not reveal anything helpful anyway. First, disconnect power and then simply check the resistance across the defrost heater and bimetal circuit at the main board located at the backside. The two associated wires at the main board are almost always BLUE and ORANGE. The heater/bimetal circuit should normally read around 30 ohms roughly. Next, check the evaporator thermister at the main board between thermister input terminals J1-4 (Blue/White) and J1-5 (Blue) to determine that its resistance is greater than 1.2k ohms but not more than 166.8k ohms depending on its ambient temperature. If thermister resistance falls within this range according to temperature (Approximately: 6k ohms at 70F 16.3k ohms at 32F 51k ohms at 0F) and the heater/bimetal circuit is diagnosed as good, then replace the main board.

Kenmore oven locked after celf cleaning

The E1- F5 error is a door lock error.

The control (TIMER) has likely failed in this instance - BUT...

Sometimes when you disconnect power to a range and reconnect it the electronic range control gets confused.
You should disconnect power again for 15 seconds and reconnect and see if that helps.

If it doesn't cure the E1- F5 error hold the bake button in until E0- F2 appears in the display.
This is the error for a stuck button on the keypad and is the way to clear the memory of the electronic range control.

Sometimes these work, but if the control has failed it won't make any difference.

Kenmore refrigerator won't cool, but freezer does.

Shaggy, This board is not the easiest to replace but if you take your time it can be done. The board is in the control panel. The panel has to be dropped and the board is held in with plastic clips. The control cover panel snaps off to access the front screws, then there are two screws undernieth. The harness's to the board are sometimes difficult to plug in once you have it set in place. Best to plug them in before snapping it in place. I believe the board comes with a new decal that sticks on. Board part number is 2252183 and Sears has a price of 222.49. You might be able to do better at repairclinic.com. I'm assuming that the fly-by night ruled out any defrost or damper problems. There is also a temperature thermistor that sits on the damper that could be out of range. He would of had to run the diag test or ohm this out to verify that. If your temps are too warm in the refer side, here is what to look for: refrigerator thermistor failure, run the diag test. Excessive frost on the evaporator, check defrost system in test mode. Refrigerator light not shutting off when door closed. Air damper not opening or blocked. Condensor coils clogged or condensor fan not running. Evaporator fan not running. Behind your toe panel is a tech sheet that will show you how to run the diag tests...Catriver.
