002 digidesign console

When i installed pro tools 6.3 my computer keeps saying it cannot locate the digidesign 002 console. i tried changing the firewire and it's not that. I restarted numerous times. a few times i pulled the firewire out and stuck it back in while the computer was on. Could i have damaged something? But it was doing this before i did that.

please respond to RWhite7021@aol.com

Thank you,
Ricardo

IMac 27inch won't boot up

Power issues After ruling out display issues, and if your computer won't turn on, try each of these steps.
  1. Verify you have a good connection from your Mac to the wall outlet by confirming the power cord and adapter are securely connected and plugged in. To check if the wall outlet is working, plug in a lamp or other electrical device
  2. If the wall outlet is working and you continue to have no power, try another power cord or adapter if available. If it works you may need a replacement cord or adapter. If you're using a Mac notebook, see Apple Portables: Troubleshooting MagSafe adapters for further troubleshooting with MagSafe adapters.
  3. Disconnect all accessories that are plugged in to your computer. This includes things like printers, USB hubs, or mobile devices.
  4. Hold down the power button for ten seconds. Then, press the power button again to see if the computer turns on.
  5. Reset the SMC.
  6. If you recently installed memory or a drive in your Mac, make sure it's compatible, supported, and installed correctly. If possible, reinstall the original memory or drive to see if the issue persists afterwards.
  7. If you're still unable to start up your computer after trying each of these steps, visit an Apple Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider (AASP) for further diagnosis. If you plan to visit an Apple Retail Store, make a reservation at the Genius Bar using http://www.apple.com/retail/geniusbar/ (available in some countries only).

It shows message as "turn on camera" while try to

Assuming your computer has a built-in iSight camera - which should be all Macs made since 2006 except for the Mac Mini and Mac Pro (not MacBOOK Pro!) - your camera

a) May not be being seen by the computer. Check Apple Menu > About This Mac > More Info > USB and see if "built-in iSight" is listed in the USB Device Tree. If it is, then it may be being used by another application that uses a webcam, like Skype, iChat, or what have you. If it IS NOT detected:

b) Try resetting your SMC:

Resetting the SMC on Mac portables with a battery you can remove
Note: Learn about removing the battery on MacBook and MacBook Pro.

  1. Shut down the computer.
  2. Disconnect the MagSafe power adapter from the computer, if it's connected.
  3. Remove the battery.
  4. Press and hold the power button for 5 seconds.
  5. Release the power button.
  6. Reconnect the battery and MagSafe power adapter.
  7. Press the power button to turn on the computer.

Resetting the SMC on portables with a battery you should not remove on your own
Note: Portable computers that have a battery you should not remove on your own include MacBook Pro (Early 2009) and later, all models of MacBook Air, and MacBook (Late 2009).

  1. Shut down the computer.
  2. Plug in the MagSafe power adapter to a power source, connecting it to the Mac if its not already connected.
  3. On the built-in keyboard, press the (left side) Shift-Control-Option keys and the power button at the same time.
  4. Release all the keys and the power button at the same time.
  5. Press the power button to turn on the computer.
    Note
: The LED on the MagSafe power adapter may change states or temporarily turn off when you reset the SMC.

Resetting the SMC for Mac Pro, Intel-based iMac, Intel-based Mac mini, or Intel-based Xserve

  1. Shut down the computer.
  2. Unplug the computer's power cord.

My removable disk e still says to insert disk after it is connected?

Disk e? are you running xp on an intel mac? if so, then the drive letter probably changed. Windows does that now and again. Open up the my computer icon, then plug in the disk while looking there. The drive that shows up is the external.

Not running XP? then possibly something wrong with your drive. Open up the System Profiler (located in your utilities folder) and check under the appropriate section (USB for a usb disk etc.) and see if it shows up there. If not, try rebooting with the device connected. If still not showing up, check it in a different computer, see if it shows up there.

If you are still having trouble, let me know and we will open up the console window and have some real fun!

No sound

You haven't indicated if problem continued after restarting computer, so if you haven't already done that, restart it.
If problem still persists then... sounds like you have a corrupt preference file. I would install AppleJack, excellent troubleshooting article can be found here... Troubleshooting Tools: AppleJack Another excellent free tool for performing maintenance is Onyx (be sure to download the right version for your system). Install the package, then run it, it will check your drive and the structure, after this, click on the automation tab and check on everything for Maintenance, Clear Cache, Cleaning, and check on Reset -> LaunchServices database and Mail's Envelope Index. When it completes, restart. Repeat any time something seems flaky, if not try to run at least once a month.
