Question about Samsung HCM4215W 42" Rear Projection Television

Samsung 42" rear projection HD tv issue

I have a HCM4215W samsung 42" rear proj. TV . i replaced the red SUBpcb and the STK convergence board with NEW parts from partsstore on Ebay. the TV turned on for about 2 mins as i tried to set perfect focus, it stalled at 4% so i turned off the TV and turned it back on to align it manually. after going through about 3 menus and barely being able to se what i was doing , the red started to like spiral arond where it was misaligned and then i turned off the set out of fear ,LOL. i tried to turn it back on but it dosent "click" and give the tones the light (timer) just blinks however i can hear a very VERY highpitched noise thats almost inaudible, kind of like when a TV is on and you know it cause you can "hear" the set whining (Sorta).
i was hoping that the red PCB and the actual convergence board would have fixed my issue, now im still prepared to move forward with this repair.
i have seen posts on "pico" fuses can anyone elaborate pls?
also IF the power supply is shot (im guessing) then is that part replaceable by itself or is that mean i meed the whole main board?
Thanks in advance... Josh borges

Pico fuses are those small on board fuses, usually soldered into place, that protect important parts of the board.

I'm not certain here, but from what you are relating, it's possible that you're system is 'speaking' to you, in a way that's troubling, at least. That high pitched whine is a high frequency squeal(I'll bet your dog can hear it just fine)..and indicates an overload in your circuitry.

you may want to isolate the source of that noise, which is either your power supply board, or the system controller board..

Cannot not line up the red and blue lines on my samsung projection tv. it is a 2002 samsung tv

Needs new convergence amps and possibly a few low ohm resistors.
Those Samsung amps usually run hot to the touch and sometimes only last 4 to 5 years depending on usage.

Samsung HCM4215w has wavy red lines and bowtie effect

Are you saying that after installing a new convergence board, you still have the same issue? If that's the case, another new board isn't going to resolve this. Also, you can't do a factory reset. Doing that would lose all the convergence and geometry data in the TV and would require a qualified technician hours of work to restore the settings. If you've installed a new board and have the same problem, suspect a problem in the TV's power supply. All convergence circuits require 2 voltages to operate. There will be a postive and a negative voltage of the same value. If you're missing either of these voltages, your convergence will never work properly.

It probably is see if you can align the convergence manually or auto if available, you can order just the convergence ic's or the convergence amp board, whichever you prefer. check pricing and availability. also check Blue crt for faded picture, usually dirty crt fluid, makes picture dark and discoloured. If it is you may need to replace the blue crt also. this gets a little expensive, again check pricing hope this gets you started RFT
