Is the plastic fan assembly the condenser fan you are talking about? If so, I am having the same problem. Where did you buy the part?

How do you remove the fan assembly from the plastic shroud? I can't figure out how to remove the cooling fan and fan motor to replace it, as it makes a squealing noise. Thanks

I have a Samsung RS2556SH Refrigerator, and it started making that awful sound, and now the freezer temperature is at 72 degrees. This is my second Refrigerator from Best Buy, the first was brand spankin new, and it died the next day. The second Refrigerator worked for almost 1 year and a half. I know a little about Troubleshooting, since I work for AT&T for several years, I tested the freezer motor, I applied 12 volts to it, and seen it move.

I measured the voltage from the molex connector, and got only 2 volts.

Problem with the Frigerator voltage supply to the motor. The Schematics looks like a horror, but I can figure it out. Derek.

You can check the fan and spray oil to the motor. Unplug the wire core out of the outlet on the wall. Then you can test the fan by spining it manually and listen to it carefully and you will hear the sound come from the fan. Right at behind the fan you can see a metal bar. Just spray the WD1040, which you can buy at Wal-Mart or any where at automative department.

I fixed mine and my friend Samsung RS2630SH like this.

Maytag admiral refrigerator, the fan inside the refrigerator is making a loud sound when on and the cooling in the refrigerator is freezing

Makes sense, you are not moving enough air. Do not over fill the refrigerator. Fix the problem with the fan, if it is noisy I am 99% sure it is not moving enough air. To make noise something mechanical is hitting, it could be either the fan blade (cheaper to fix) or the motor.
Good Luck,

My Kenmore refrigerator is making a loud noise when running and when it shuts off it makes a loud clunking noise. Also, it is running about every 10 minutes. The refrigerator is 7 years old.

it sounds like the compressor insides are loose and you will be needing a new compressor, but just check and make sure the rubber mounting feet on the outer compressor base where its mounted to the refrigerator base are all tight and the rubber shocks are all good

GE Fridge Motor Super Loud

Open the freezer door and see if the sound is there or if its near the floor. This needs to be corrected soon to prevent damage to your refrigerator. Your explanation makes be think the fan inside the freezer is loose or has ice buildup around the blades or the fan blade has become unbalanced in some way...Let me know and please rate me, Thanks, Sea Breeze

At only one year old the compressor had to be replaced. Now when it cycles there is this whirling sound that is loud enough to keep you awake. What the heck is it? That noise was not there before.

Not as much as likely the compressor again. I think your fan inside the freezer or under the refrigerator may be hitting something like ice or the housing the fan blades spin in. Could also be the blades are loose or out of balance. The only way to track it down is open the freezer and listen or move the refrigerator away from wall and take the cover off of the compressor compartment and look and listen. I would not like that noise myself. If you need anything please let me know. I'm here to get you fixed, Thanks Sea Breeze. Oh if this is helpful please rate me thanks.

LG refrigerator makes loud noise and then stops running.

You are seriously frozen up. Defrost the unit completely. Then, be aware that 'window shopping', leaving uncovered liquids in the box and poor door sealing (too heavy a load on the door ... too much on shelves) can cause condensation. Defrost with hot air or leave unplugged and open for about 2 days. You'll see alot of water come out.

Rattling in freezer

The noise is most likley coming from on of the fan motors. My guess is the condensor fan motor which is on the back of the fridge at the bottom. You will need to take the back off and see if the blade is hitting something or the housing for the fan is loose. The vibration from that fan may even cause the drain pan to rattle. If the noise is coming from inside the freezer then it is the evaporator fan motor and would likely have some ice buildup around the blade for to make noise. Will have to take the grill off in the center top of the panel in the freezer to inspect this fan. There is little tab in the middle of that grill that you push up on and pop the bottom loose then pry on one side with a screwdriver, pushing inward and pull out for the grill to come off. Let me know what you find.
