Question about Whirlpool GHW9400 Front Load Washer

Ccu and Detergent Yikes

Well, i come back from an extended trip to find out that my roommate, took off the cover of my duet, to check the wires on the ccu. It was having the F/dl code. Well the Smartie, hit his head on the shelf above the washer, and dumped over a gallon of detergent into the uncovered machine. Looks like the CCU fried a resistor, he said it the CCU smoked. Just curious if anyone has any pictures of the full CCU board, and Pictures of where all the wires get pluged back into, to make the install of a new board easier. He failed to do that, and has no idea where they all went.

the wires only plug into the correct connectors there is no way you can put them back on wrong here is how to replace it

    REMOVING THE

    CENTRAL CONTROL UNIT

The Central Control Unit is a single assembly and

does not contain any serviceable parts. It can be

removed by lifting the top plastic tabs securing it

to the back cabinet frame and sliding it towards

    the front of the washer

SUDS LOCK (Overdose of Detergent detected during the Wash Cycle)

Duet Washer will not spin water out

Hello, The most common cause of the 'sud' alarm is too much detergent, or the detergent that is being used is creating too much suds. It works and alarms off of the motor current draw. The causes and cures listed below are pretty much in order of their commonality; try the first item before the second one, etc. If you can pin the fault on the detergent, try using the least amount of detergent that you can while still getting your clothes clean. With a HE washer, more isn't always better. Read on:

The motor control unit senses a suds lock condition by analyzing the current draw on the drive motor. If “Sud” is displayed a potential suds lock is detected. This may signify a bad pump, an extra heavy load, excessive detergent, or excessive suds.

Potential Causes

• If too much detergent was used, run the unit through a Rinse/ Spin cycle then a Normal cycle without adding any detergent. This should clear the unit of the excess detergent.
• Check the drain hose and make sure it is not plugged or kinked
• Check / Clean Drain Pump Filter of foreign objects
• Check Drain Pump
• Check Wire Harness connections to the Drain Pump, Pressure Switch, and Central Control Unit (CCU)
• Check the Pressure Switch
• Check CCU

Replace failed component.

Hope that this helps. Try the empty loads first to clear the detergent. This is the easiest fix.
Best regards, --W/D--
