Hi, from the way you said your problem, might not be easy for me to just give you a direct answer to the problem. Because i don't know what happened to it before it started acting the way it those.
So what you can do for me is to write out another comment and really describe exactly what happened to it that made it the way it is now.

How to Troubleshoot With a Zen Stone MP3 Player
Creative Zen Stone MP3 players work without problems under most conditions, but may occasionally malfunction during normal operation. Malfunctions are often caused by errors in the player software but are occasionally caused by other issues. If your Creative Zen Stone MP3 player is not playing back music or responding to button presses, troubleshoot your device. Most problems are common and do not require service.
Plug the small end of the USB cable into the USB jack on the Zen Stone MP3 player. If the rechargeable battery is drained, the MP3 player will not work. Wait until the indicator light stops blinking before removing it from your computer.
Connect the MP3 player to your computer and open the Creative Media Lite software on your computer. Check for updates to the player's firmware by pressing the "Check for Updates" button in the software. Follow the onscreen instructions to update the firmware if one is available. Just tried this on a zen stone with speaker and worked. Connect your zen stone to your computer. When the green light is on, use a paper clip and press and hold the reset button (small hole on the headphone jack side). The green light should turn off. Wait a bit and it should start blinking to indicate it is now charging. Note: This reset only worked when I had it connected to the computer.
