Hi i have found a coleman lamp in the loft in good condition i want to use it for myself for fishing , but it does not preasure when i try and pump it could you help coleman 201 use generator 201-5891 thats whats on the lamp regards ****

Please breakdown and then reconstruct your baitcaster as according to your manual. During the process, take not of any bent, loose or disfigured components. If none, please use a few practice casts. If still not taking, please call your closest sporting goods or fishing store to ask if they can send out a repair man.

The pressure relief valve could be stuck open or faulty. The check valves may be stuck or plugged up. Try thoroughly clean these parts and see if that helps.

I just browsed the net and found several sites that sell coleman parts. Above is just one I copied and pasted. If your unit is older, if you know the type of pump you can search for that. eg. (debilvius) A lot of compressors have the same pump under a different name like Coleman, Sanborn etc. I have found some units that are just so old they are obsolete and parts just aren't available.Hope this helps. You could have three possable problems that I can think of. 1) Your oil viscosity is too low and you need to change it to a higher level. A 5w/30 or 10w/30 oil may thin out too much when it warms up to normal temp and shows low on your gauge. 2) The preasure relief valve is partially open due to a small piece of debris caught under the seat. Unscrew the oil filter and look at the small disk that is near the threded part on the filter base. Theres a spring behind it to keep it closed so all the oil goes into the engine and not bypass back into the oil pan. Push up on it slightly with a small tip screw driver and see that it fully seats in the hole, put a new filter on, and try it. 3) If these two things don't improve the condition, get a socket for taking the oil preasure sender off and get a oil preasure gauge to test the actual oil preasure the engine is producing. You may have a weak pump in the engine. If the preasure is within good specs, I'd change the sender unit with a new one.

My best answer is that your pump seals have dried out and are allowing pumped up pressure to leak back past the pump seal
Try this: DO NOT LIGHT THE STOVE
Pump it up hard then quickly attach a small balloon with a rubber band around the base of the pump - where it contacts the tank. A deflated balloon or a small plastic baggie - does the balloon begin to fill with air after a few minutes - if yes then your seal is leaking.
You might try taking the pump apart and soaking the seal overnight in fuel reinstall and see if it cores your problem

Have you changed the water pump ?

try replacing the oil preasure switch, if that doesnt solve your problem then have your oil preasure tested, if it really doesnt have oil preasure it will cause internal engine damage so start with the switch and then go from there, hope this is helpful.

gave valve in lower pump assy a good poke all now ok!
