Question about Primera Technology Bravo II DVD Duplicator (62743) DVD±R Burner

Primera Bravo II

Is there any instructions somewhere as to the steps to follow to replace the CD/DVD burner in a Bravo II duplicator. It is kind of hard to dish out 300$ to have them do it when a 115D burner cost 40$!

Tks

I have burned approx. 5000 CDs and DVDs with this duplicator in the past 2 years. Recently it started rejecting every blank disc it picks up. It only burned 1 out of a stack of 20. I tried different job types on two different machines and I can't get it to burn anything. It can't be a media problem because I've been using the same brand since I got it. I even tried a couple of different brand discs and they didn't work either. I took the cover off and it looks like just a couple of allen head (hex) screws holding in the drive. Is this really all I have to do to change the drive?

I'm having the same problem with my bravo II. after working for 2 years, it is now rejecting about 95% of all blank cd's. I tried burning to the drive in my tower and it did the same thing, so I reloaded the software, but it's still doing it. help!

Thanks..piece of cake. A few things to know.
1. The entire robot mechanism does not have to be taken apart, but it has to be taken out in order to get to the screws that hold the drive.
2. Make sure you use the correct holes when installing the drive. If not the robot will not be in the center of the disk when it goes to pick it up.
3. I did it in less than an hour. Drive cost me 22 bucks.

This is not an official solution from Primera by any means, but I find the easiest thing to do is change the drive yourself.

***Do This Only When Your Warranty Is Expired***

This will void out any active warranty but it also is a solution to the problem many of you might have.

Carefully open up the system and replace the burner with a new one. Burners go bad, its a known fact, whether its inside a robot or not. Several thousands of burns tend to lend heavy wear and tear on the system. If you are like me, you are probably making hundreds of copies at a time.

Since PTPublisher lets you use any drive on the system you know its not wired into the robot, :) Hope this helps someone as it helped me.
