Problem for Electric Fans

Casablanca W32 Fan and Light Switch Rev...
I installed a new W32 wall controller for a Casablanca fan and the Fan and Light switches are reversed. When I swap the black wires with white stripes as described in the installation manual, the switch is totally dead and does nothing. When I swap the black wires with white stripes back, it is fine except that the Fan and Light switches are reversed. Any help you could provide would be appreciated!

- We cannot get the fan to switch directions. The reverse button on the remote does not work and there is no manual way of switching the direction on the fan. The fan will only spin clock wise. We have tried switching remotes and when that did not work we exchaged for a new fan. Help!!!Please!!!- Jlashkoff

Check to see if the wiring at the fan is reversed - perhaps the neutral (typically white) & hot (typically black or red) are swapped.
If this is not the case, check to see if the neutral & hot are switched for the entire circuit.
