My Archos 1 Vision. Wont play a particular music file. It has played it amazingly fine since i bought it 3 months ago.
It was connected to my computer charging for a while, then i turned my system off so it was off for a while.
Wanted to listen to a few songs before bed, turned it on,selected Music,Scrolled down to the file i wanted,Went to select a song.........FROZEN!
I can turn it off but the same thing happens everytime i go to select something from this file
Please help i need music on my travels ;-)
I've had this happen a couple of times in the last 6 months. You can get it to play again by chosing the format option from the settings menu. Of course, then you've lost everything you had loaded on to it. Download your music/audio books again and they will play.
This might be a tricky one to solve - may take more than one method. Start by resetting the player. Then replugging it into the computer. If it still fails:
the PD-6030 via device manager. The PD-6030 needs
to plugged in to do this. Go to Start, Control
Panel and select 'Performance an Maintenance'.
Then Select 'System'. Then select the 'Hardware
Tab' and select 'Device Manager'. Then find a
device called 'Portable Devices' or 'Windows
Portable Device'. Then select the + sign next to
the device and right click the 'Audio Player'.
'Uninstall'. Click 'OK' when it asks you if it is
OK to uninstall. Then select 'Action' at the top
of the Window and select 'Scan for hardware
changes'. Then once it re-installs the driver, see
performing a firmware recovery procedure can
work to make your computer recognize the PD-6030.
Please follow the set of instructions titled, "Q: How to recover
my player's firmware?".

I bought my Insignia 32" LCD in November 2007 - same problem. I figured out that if you press the "input" button on your remote select any of the other options "component 1, composite 1, etc.. that you're TV isn't on -then press "input" again and go back to the component that you're TV plays on - you'll have volume when you go back every time. I've gotten so used to doing it now that it's become habit. 9 times out of 10 I have to do it.
Go out and sell it on ebay. Say only one problem with it. And under description say special software needed to use correctly. make sure it is at a low price and yoou put correctly, cuz half th people on ebay dont use the things correctly.
