LG E300 I have just acquired an LG E300 laptop, it comes with 1GB ram and I am trying to upgrade that to 2GB, there is only a single slot on the underside of the machine so I suspect the second slot is under the keyboard. I have located the two screws on th eunderside to release the keyboard but i cant seem to make it happen. Can you assist me.

You have to remove a few more screws from the base that hold down the silver bezel that goes between the top of the KB and the lcd screen. then remove the bezel(start from far left side, lift silver bezel with fingernail and it should come out easily, then remove/tilt up the keyboard (watch the cable!), then pop open the silver little cover and youll find your other memory slot.
(prob. with a 512mb stick in it)
Obviously, do this with power off!

Can the LG Xnote RD405 laptop intially with 1gb RAM be upgraded to 4 gb using two 2gb RAM's ? Please help me by providing an answer clearly, Thanks in Advance.

Here is the memory specifications from LG.

Maximum Size: Each slot is 1024MB and can be expanded to 2048MB.
SO DIMM Type for Memory Expansion: DDR2 SDRAM SO-DIMM (256MB, 512MB, 1024MB)

It can take a maximum of 2 gigabytes of ram. It will take two 1 gb sticks. It uses DDR2 laptop ram. You need to check to see if you have one stick that has 1 gb or 2 sticks that have 512 mb each. That will tell you if you need to buy one or two sticks of ram at 1 gb each. You will be able to tell a difference going from one gb to two gb of ram. I think it would be worth the investment if you plan on using the computer for another year or more.

I put a 2gb ddr2-667 memory chip in the single (only) memory slot in my gateway nx100x notebook pc. The pc will not boot up with the 2gb memory card. Is there a compatibility problem or do I have a ba

yes, there may be compatibility problem. your 2GB ram may be dead. try your 2gb ram on other notebooks. if it is working on other notebooks, then your ram is ok. your notebook will support maximum 2GB ddr2 memory per slot. your notebook may not be booting due to unsupported frequency of your ram. maximum supported frequency for your notebook may me 400Mhz, and you are putting a 667MHz ram into it. try to put a 400MHz 2GB ddr2 ram in your notebook.

You can click on any photo to enlarge it.

Step 3 photo shows the Memory Compartment.

Two ram memory (SO-DIMM) can be used. There are two ram memory slots.

1GB however, IS the largest amount for EACH slot.

Can the 1 G of Ram be increased to 2 G of ram on a Compacq V3020

The specs for your laptop says that the maximum allowable RAM that it can hold is up to 2gb so yes you can upgrade it.
2 pieces of 1gb RAM (1gb per slot) or a single stick of 2gb on 1 slot.

Good Day.

Samsung n150 plus is expandable to how many memory?

The Samsung N150 Laptop comes installed with 1GB of Memory and can be upgraded to a maximum of 2GB Memory. This computer has 1 (one) SO-DIMM memory slot, so to upgrade to 2GB of RAM, you will need to replace the installed RAM module with a single 2GB PC2-5300 DDR2-667 200pin SDRAM SO-DIMM memory module.

I have a compaq presario cq60-215dx notebook pc, was wondering how do i go about upgrading the RAM?

I have checked the Compaq Presario CQ60-215DX Specification It Originally has 2GB Memory and supports upto 4GB RAM max. If you intend to upgrade the RAM, you can buy additional RAM and put them in you system. Here is the HP Guide to Replace RAM and How to Upgrade RAM Guide
Compaq Presario CQ60-215DX has two RAM slots for DDR-2 (533 or 667) Memory Modules. First you have to check that the RAM slot is available for additional RAM. I believe that it has two modules of 1GB each in both slots. So, you have to get two modules of RAM 2GB each to upgrade to 4GB (or one 2GB RAM module to upgrade to 3GB). Hence, it is recommended that you get 2GB replacement module for each 1GB module you have on you system from local laptop repair/ service center, which would be cost effective as existing 1GB RAM Modules would be useless for you upon upgrade.

Let me know if any further clarification/ assistance is required.

Good Luck!
Appreciate generously, if the solution could have been of any help!

Just tried running restore and now have blue screen

Compaq are a bit fussy with RAM and usually don't like mixed RAM - brand, speed, & sometimes size.
You model may not support more than 2GB, check the specs..
Try inserting a single 2Gb RAM to see if it works.
If it dosen't work and the laptop won't support more than 2Gb, you may need to install two 1Gb RAM modules.

Reg ram upgradation

Each memory slot on the C555NR can support a maximum of 1GB of RAM. There are actually 2 slots, but only one is easily accessible to you. By upgrading both the primary and secondary DIMMs, you could achieve a total of 2GB of memory but you would have to remove the 512mb chip that is already installed and replace it with 1GB (+1GB in the expansion slot as well.)

If you don't plan on taking the computer to a professional to be serviced, you will probably only want to upgrade the memory in the secondary slot located under the memory cover on the underside of the computer. It can handle a 1GB SODIMM.

FYI the memory is:
200 Pin DDR2-533 PC2-4200 SODIMM

Good luck!
