Shoot yourself. That will resolve your problem entirely.

When receiving calls on my triple cd445 cordless phone it would ring once or twice and then cut off.How can i solve this problem

Unplug them all overnight, phone jack and power bases. Plus any other phone line devices, faxes etc. Plug the base unit and get someone to phone you. Then plug each unit in one at a time with a phone call in between. One of the units may be exceeding the REN number of units on your home phone line with all the devices you have.

If that doesn't pin point it, contact your phone service provider as you may have line problems including bad connections to the house itself. All your wires sit in boxes outside..

Why won't it ring or dile?

That means that it is not getting a signal from the place that you plugged it into. It could be the connection in the wall box or the wire to the phone or the phone or the cable to the wall box inside the house or the cable connection to the box on the side of the house.

My phone says check Tel Line

Sounds like your telephone line might be dead. If you have a gray or tan telephone box on the outside of your house you can plug your phone in there to test the line. If you get dialtone then thrers a problem in your house wiring, if you don't get dial tone then the line is dead and you need to conact your telco provider.

Our Phone wiring is underground and the connector box on the outside of mthe house was done in1978. My problem is that I hit the wires and some of them were knocked loose from the terminal and now I don't...

green wires and red wires.......... that is line one. also solid blue and blue with a white stripe is also line one..... so tie the greens and blue w/white stripes together and tape off (if not screwed down to block), and do the same with the red wires tied together with the solid blues.

yellow and black is line two.....and so is solid orange and orange w/white stripe. then just fill in the blanks as stated above.
its simple, think of the wires as speaker wire in a way to simplify what you are looking at. multiple Pairs (+/-) wires color coded. if the wires came off of the screw down posts, just match up the colors like stated above on the posts and screw them back down.

My phone line is not working i have tryed another phone and the line is died

If neither phone is working it is 99% certain that the fault is outside the house. However take the top of the connection box where it enters the house and check the wires are still connected. Any carpets laid lately or workmen in house? If there is no sound at all it is a straight disconnection somewhere. If there is a buzzing or rasping sound it would indicate possible damp in the connection box.

Telephone wiring- phone rings in once -static on line-call out works Seams to be worst after rain or great moisture. Sometimes clears up suddenky

I have the same problem. You might try taking a corded phone to the service box outside where the telephone line connects to your house. On the underneath side there is a line jack used for test purposes. Plug your phone in there to see if static is heard. If you hear no static from this test jack, but do hear static from in the house corded phones, you probably have a wiring issue inside the house. If you hear static from the outside test jack, that's the phone companies problem to fix. Hope this helps.

No dial tone on phone

When this happens you need to take the phone outside and open the phone box and plug it in. If it works the problem is inside of your house. If it does not work the problem is with the telephone company. Note if it does not work right away when you take it outside. Wait ten minutes before reconnecting the house wires. And try it again. Sometimes the telephone company will keep it disconnected for 10 minutes until the problem is taken off the line.

Main line has gone dead throughout our house 619-443-1066. We must have the line working as to medical assistance that is necessary for 2 members in our home.

hi,

outside somewhere on your house is a grey telephone box, open it up with a screwdriver and look inside. your looking for a phone jack, this is where you plug a spare phone in to diagnose wether the problem is inside or outside. the phone jack may already have a small phone jack plug plugged into it, this goes to your house. unplug that and swing it out of the way. use a spare phone and plug it in there. If you plug the phone in and you dont hear a dial tone use your cell phone to call the phone company and tell them what you just did and your problem is outside. If you do hear a dial tone your problem is from the box to the house and for right now you can use an extension cord to run it inside untill you find where your problem is. When you have time you can start troubleshooting by plugging that house plug back into the grey box and unplugging ALL phones and equiptment and start checking every jack in the house to see if you have any dial tone, if you dont have a dial tone anywhere and when you call your phone line its busy that could mean you have a short, if it rings off the hook then you have a broken line, the wire colors in question are RED and GREEN and line 2 are usually yellow and brown or another color, and all of these cant touch or be crossed or you will have a shorted line. If you have kids you might want to check their room to see if theyve been playing around with the jack or jacks , a visual inspection with a magnifying glass and a flashlight into the jacks should show no metal contacts bent or overlapping. taking the covers off the jacks should see those wire colors securely wrapped around the designated wire bolt posts. If you need more assistance write me back
good luck

Multi Phone Line Wiring Assistance

unless you are intending on using internet phones you will need to run new wire from the phone box ( on the outside of house) to each Room A and Room B. The general line is already run as I am assuming you already have 1 line in place.

Home telephone wiring

Your wiring could be a mess of splicing, jumpers, additions over the years. It's impossible to know (or to really be able to help you) without being there in person.

Typically, you just have to worry about the red and green wires. The black and yellow are for a second line. This is of course only if you have standard 2 pair wiring.

If any work has been done recently I would concentrate on that area. If just one jack is removed or a wire cut by mistake that could easily take out your entire house. Also, if the red and green wires are touching anywhere that would also cause a problem.
