Sharp Aquos power up delay

I have just bought a Sharp Aquos LC46X20E ,i only had the first one a few days and it was taking several minutes to come on after switching on. Currys exchanged it saying they had heard of it with philips but not sharp.
My replacement is the same ,i have timed it and from pressing the power on button it takes just over 3 minutes to come on.
Before i ask for another exchange ,can you tell me if this is a fault or is it how its been designed, Currys dint know.

Three minutes is inordinately long for a set such as this to come up. I've heard of this but not on consecutive runs such as yours...accordianman

Have you checked the voltage in your home?
How about the way your outlets are wired?
Do you have too few outlets and many other things on the same circuit?
Sometimes you can have a continual problem with it like a brown out.
My daughter and her husband were living in an apartment that had only one good electric circuit and another iffy one, needless to say, they moved to another better apartment.
Brownouts were occuring all the time, because of insufficient current when so many things are on one circuit.
You may have a situation that has caused a power surge and caused the same problem with both tv's.
The best protection is a GFCI outlet installed where the tv is AND a power strip that protects against lighning.
Let me know what you see.

I have a sharp AQUOS, it was working last night but since the heavy lightning no longer working, power point is OK

Unplug it, wait a minute, then plug it back in. If it still doesn't work, you may have taken a lightning pulse and damaged the unit. You'll need a repairman. BTW, your homeowners insurance may pay for the repairs.
