Hi my garmin nuvi stopped working completely it dont turn on anymore what should i do pete

A Garmin Nuvi 1300 that won't start, freezes on 'loading maps,' or is acting erratically is symptomatic of having corrupt firmware.

To correct this, I recommend backing up your favorites, clearing all user data, and if it still is stuck, then updating your Nuvi firmware.

Follow these three steps to take to get your Garmin Nuvi 1300 running like new:

1. Back up your Favorites.
2. Perform a Hard Reset.
3. Download and then run Garmin WebUpdater to replace its firmware / system software.

My garmin Nuvi (205 I think) just stopped working...blank screen, does nothing? Was working fine a few hours ago. Car plug in lights up when plugged in but still nothing.

i had same prob about a month ago it sorted it's self out after left on charge for a week

Whenever these devices start acting up, like not turning on anymore or getting stuck at the Garmin welcome screen, I recommend performing a hard reset of your Gamin Nuvi 205. Also, use Garmin's WebUpdater service to make sure you have the latest software on your device.

re-software the nuvi...go to the site....and download complete software for nuvi...

Hi, my 760 had the same problem, and a stutter when speaking street names. I fixed both by upgrading the software to v4.60 using the Garmin Webupdater.

To activate the voice prompts, go to 1. Tools, 2. Settings, 3. Language, 4. Voice Language Option, 5 Select a Voice Option that includes a persons Name, eg Jack or TTS, Select OK and that should resolve your problem.

I had the same problem. My Nuvi 350 did not power up for a couple of days. I suspected moisture to be the culprit. So I took my wife's hair dryer and blew hot air(in the intermediate setting) into the SD card slot in the GPS for a couple of minutes. Take care not to overheat the GPS or Screen.
Pronto my GPS powered up without any issues.
