there is an auto search method....some remotes you can hold the tv button down and then the select button simultanteously for a few seconds to make the light turn red and then proceed with codes, when you get the right code you press the select button again, the light blinks and you are done..... well with out a code its the luck of the draw..... the auto search method is similar to programming the code in....hold the tv button and the select button for a couple seconds until the tv button lights up, but instead of a code.....press the channel up button(that represents the first autosearch code), continue until the tv turns itself off and then press the select button to lock it into the remote...........if you go past the trigger point you can channel down to backtrack.... otherwise drop it in the toilet until it wont work, call the cable company and have them send out a tech with anew remote. they cant charge you for their equipment not working correctly. trust me, i am a supervisor at a major cable company.
Hello check the cable box connections to see what type of connection you are using for television, if you are watching in HD then you might of changed the video input or source button was hit by mistake.
Unplug TV set from the outlet, wait 30 seconds, plug it back in, select right input with your remote if you using cable box or Punch the channel that you want to watch if you have cable service connected directly to the TV.
There's a button on most remotes to toggle between the TV and Video (for VCR or DVD). You've probably hit the TV/Video button on your remote control so it's on Video. On the Samsung TV, that button brings up the "Video - Connect the A/V jacks" message. Try hitting that button again.
go to page 19 of your manual (for the E-Z remote) or here "http://www.dishnetwork.com/downloads/pdf/user_guides_and_manuals/remotes/EZ_Remote_Manual.pdf" (if you don't have the manual)
or to here "http://www.dishnetwork.com/support/documents/receivers/default.aspx" if you have a different remote.
basically, turn your TV on, then you press the antenna button for about 5 seconds until the TV button lights, then use the channel up/down buttons to find the code (the TV will turn off when you find it) hit the TV button again to turn it back on, then hit mute to set the code! good luck!
If this doesn't work with your new remote there is always the way that I have done it in the past and that is to use the find the code function on your new remote. It is a pain but can be done and is quite effective. Each remote is slightly different, but for the most part you would hit the set up botton and hold it in until it starts flashing then hit the T.V. Button and then hit the first code it tells you to hit and then hit the power switch if it doesn't turn off your T.V. then you hit the increment button up, (this is different for each remote so it is important to follow the instruction manual on this part) You bassically keep hitting the incriment button until your code comes up and then it will turn off your t.v.! Then your done. Note: It may take up to 400 pushes of the increment button, but it will work.
Put your TV/DVD/VCR on
hold in what you want to program TV/DVD/VCR BUTTON
(you dont need codes or anything)
then while holding in what you want to program (TV, DVD, VCR) hold in ON/OFF
both at the same time
when the light comes on and stays on
keep hitting ON/OFF BUTTON
do it slow, when the TV turns off hit the STOP button at the bottom
then hit the button you just programed
then hit the ON/OFF button, the TV/DVD/VCR will turn on
if it doesnt work, repeat. make sure you hit the stop button when the
TV/DVD/VCR shuts off, if you hit it an extra time while the TV/DVD/VCR
is off it wont work.
took me about 30 mins to figure it out.
I lost my codes too, but I wanted to help all you other people too..
now since I helped you.. check my band out...
