Question about Refrigerators
When the door water is dispensed or the ice maker cylcle switches on, water pours out of the back o ring connections on the filter housing. It is not from excess house water pressure and I have replaced the filter. GE Profile Arctica: 2001 Model PCS23MGMB. Smart water Plus filter leaks- steady drip. Began dripping 2 years new. 1)Changed filters numerous times, still dripped. 2)Cut down water pressure going into unit, still dripped. 3)Flushed system thoroughly and changed filters while cleaning O-rings and gaskets....still dripped. Please someone help as I'm ready to throw the thing out. I've shut the water system down and resorted to buying water and ice....not good for GE Appliances.
If this is a Pure source 2 filter in the upper right hand side of fridge, Purchase an Electrolux filter bypass, P/N 241944302. This is a empty cartridge that lets water flow without water drip when filter is clogged. Fridgidaire/Electrolux made no bypass in these filters, so when clogged they leak. Plus they NEVER last more than about 30/60 days. If you use the bypass, you will need a separate filter elsewhere such as in water line under sink or behind fridge.
