If there is a mains interuption and the power supply on the main board is failing, that could cause a failure as you have described.
As an engineer I would repair the main board but I suspect you have a fitter that will fit a complete board as he doesn't know how to repair the faulty board.
The f should be followed by a digit or two that indicate a particular fault code. A mid cycle stop with a fault code might be because of a long drain time due to a Faulty drain pump or clogged drain filter but without the entire fault code it’s difficult to give an exact answer.

Error code E09 means there is something the matter with the part in the washing machine control board that drives the motor. Fixing a control board error can be complex. You can try:
Switching off and unplugging your washer when you do this i suggest waiting about 5 minutes before plugging in since your machine can store energy even after a few seconds of being unplugged.
Checking the wiring and connections to the control board
it means that your pump is clogged you need to take that bottom panel off the washer and twist the white cap slowly so it can drain put plenty of towels down once it is done draining pull the cap and clean the trap behind it
