Question about Garmin StreetPilot C320 GPS Receiver

1 Answer

Touchscreen offset Hi, can anyone help with a touchscreen problem on my Streetpilot C320? Basically the touchscreen bit has effectively moved so that you have to press a 'button' about 15mm below where it displays on the screen. Obviously not good for selecting the buttins on the bottom row of the screen! It also means I can't do a factory reset as that involves pressing the bottom right hand corner of the screen when powering up. The bottom right hand corner of my screen is somewhere about 15mm below the unit... Does anyone know how to reset this? Thanks, Deano

Hi Mabulok, thanks for the info. It worked a treat in the end. I had to repeat the process 3 times, as it kept drifting at first, but since recharging the C320 and using it this morning everything works fine again. Your help was much appreciated. If only Garmin could have been anywhere near as supportive...

Here's what you do: Turn off the gps. Then, hold the power button for approximately 30 seconds. The calibration screen will appear. Follow the instructions to re-calibrate the touch screen.

Please see this link on how to recalibrate your touchscreen. The procedure should be the same as a Nuvi 14xx.

How do you troubleshoot if the garmin gps suddenly just don't want to turn on even if it is plugged on the charger?

Try a "Master Reset" on your StreetPilot c550:

Power the StreetPilot off (ensure that it is not connected to external power)
Touch-and-hold your finger in the lower right corner of the Touchscreen...
Power the StreetPilot on...
Continue to hold your finger there until "Erase all user date?" appears...
Remover finger from the Touchscreen...
Touch "Yes"

If this doesn't work check to see if your item is still under warranty. If not I can provide you with a place that fixes gps' relatively inexpensively. Hope this helps.

Garmin c320 installation

You should contact the manufacture rep, or the manufacture directly and ask that question. From my own experience they will tell you that you have to buy a new copy. The software is a bit on the expensive side.

Touchscreen not working

You could try resetting the device by:

1. Place your thumb nail in the groove located under the Garmin logo on the face plate.
2. Gently pull off the faceplate.
3. Press the reset button
4. Turn the unit back on

If that still doesn't take care of it then you can try to contact Garmin to see if they have a replacement touch screen or if they can repair it, but the product is discontinued.
