I have the same problem. Just one day my copier, scanner, fax stopped working. I can still PRINT, but I can not scan, copy, or send a fax...

I would really love to know if there's a fix. I'm guessing it probably needs to be taken into a repair shop but... if you know how to fix it I'd love to fix it myself. Thanks!

Thanks to "Guest" - the same solution worked for me - I unplugged the power from the back of the printer and it solved my problem. I could print but not copy - and even could not print from one of the two PCs hooked up to the printer. Thanks so much for the solution! I didn't think it would work and you totally saved me from buying a new printer!!

U will need another scanner assembly..note i said another and not new....HP does not make inkjet parts available. Your best option is to find a used one of which we have. Replacement will require minor disassembly of the printer, left and right side covers, undo a few plugs, remove two T-10 screws and the entire assembly lifts out.

Scanner won't scan

I had the same problem along with the problem of "remove and check color cartridge." Nothing worked until I completely disconnected the power to the K80, both from the wall and from the K80, and left it disconnected overnight. In the morning all worked great. The problem was gone.

How do I solve the "scanner failure power off and on again" message for an h.p. 6110 officjet all-in-one printer/scanner/fax?

Hi Paul,

Scanner Failure usually results in Hardware Failure. However there is one step you can try. Try connecting the printer directly to wall outlet or any other power outlet and the issue should be resolved.

Sean

for all-in-one printers very often we must install drivers for the scanner section and some times the universal drivers under your model works fine you sure try that.

HP C6180 Scanner Failure error message

You need new scanner section but try first to clean this one.Disassembly the printer and pull out the scanner section.Open it cover and inside you'll see the mirrors.Clean the ash from mirrors using cloth which leaves no hairs.
WARNING! If you don't have a technical skills don't try to do anything.
If this not help you need to replace the scanner section.

HP Officejet 6310 scans once but then says scanner failure

hi,

that error message is nothing to do with the software part, it actaully hardware issue try the following,

1) unplug the machine and connect it to wall outlet directly,
2) unplug the power cord from the printer and press and hold ON for 1 min and release the ON button and plug it back..
3) Disconnect the power cord from the product.Press and hold # and 6 while reconnecting the power cord to the product, and then release both buttons and if printer turns off, turn it back ON and wait until it cmopletes its instialization and if still persists, it a hardware failure...............
