Hi,
the device has a power callibration error, meaning that it cannot apply sufficient power to the laser head, to burn your disks.
Alternatively the laser head may be-weak, out of alignment.
this is a Drive error, you can try a CD head cleaning Disk.
The problem, could also relate to the motherboard not supplying enough power the actual drive itself.
ensure you have a full battery, and A/C adaptor into the laptop.
also try uninstalling-re-installing nero.
if all this fails, consider a repair or re-placement DVD Rom.

My cd dvd-rom can't read cd's or burn cd's

If it is working correctly, it should read both CD and DVD disks.

If you have a "combo" drive (DVD-reader and CD reader/writer), it should burn CD disks.

If it is not working correctly, spend $40 to buy a replacement CD/DVD reader/writer.

How to download driver for LG DVD writer, model-GH22NS50

Windows 2000/XP/Vista/7 all have built-in support for reading/writing files from CD/DVD units -- there is no need for "driver" software.

If you want FREE software to simplify the process of writing CD/DVD disks, access http://www.MajorGeeks.com and search for "AShampoo Burning 6". Download this FREE software, and install it.

It is unable to burn discs

Has it ever been used to burn a disk?
Have you used the correct type of disk that the drive supports?
Have you tried different software, Download a couple of free programs ( CD BurnerXP. IMGBURN. Ashampoo)
Is it a CD/DVD ROM, and now a Writer?
Still no luck, write back

I just got a brand new pc and i dont know how to

Hello Dear,

(This procedure is with Microsoft Windows OS)
It's quite easy to use CD/DVD Burner. Most of the CD/DVD writer comes with the Installation CD, that contains the burning software (mostly Nero Burning Rome). Just Install the Software from this CD.
Now you see the programe icon on desktop (i.e. Nero). Double Click on this icon, and you will be presented with the choice, as what type of CD or DVD you want to burn (i.e. Music, Picture, Date). Select the appropriate option. Now add files and click on BURN, when ready. In no time your CD/DVD is ready.

Thanks

Why would my dvd writer start finalizing?

Try a Better Brand of DVDs. Cheap DVDs sometimes doesn't burn correctly. Get a DVD cleaner and clean your DVD player.

CD Writer - unable to write

Please ensure the writing software you are using is set to write to a disk - not to make an image file or to test writing on the disk. Perhaps try another writing software such as nero.
